Bales’ Bananas – Monkey Knife Fight NBA Prop Picks 3/8/19

Over Under 2/2 – Detroit Pistons/Chicago Bulls

Zach LaVine owns a massive role in the Chicago Bulls offense, and he has been playing well for quite some time. He’s averaging 27.1 points on 19.3 shot attempts, 5.7 three-point attempts, and 6.3 free throw attempts per game over his last 13 games. He has scored 24+ points in none of those 13 games, as well. Furthermore, he attempted 10, 14, 13 and 9 shots in the three games he missed the mark. LaVine is averaging a higher usage rating at home, and he has been more efficient in Chicago, as well. The Detroit Pistons have struggled against shooting guards this season, as well, although LaVine is averaging only 20.5 points per game against them. He’s an in elite spot at home tonight, though. Reggie Jackson has featured plenty of ups and downs this season, and that has been the case recently. He is averaging only 3.6 assists in 27.2 minutes per game over his last eight games. He also failed to record six or more assists in seven of those games. Jackson is expected to find similar minutes tonight, and he could struggle once again. Chicago ranks sixth in the NBA in assists allowed (7.7) per game. Jackson is averaging only 4.0 assists per game against the Bulls this season, as well, and he will likely struggle to facilitate in this game.

Play $50 on Zach LaVine OVER 23.5 points and Reggie Jackson UNDER 5.5 assists to win $121.50 (2.43x)

Over Under 2/2 – Utah Jazz/Memphis Grizzlies

Donovan Mitchell’s total seems to be a bit inflated from two massive performances recently. Mitchell owns games with 38 and 46 points over his last 10 games. That has increased his points per game to 27.5 points. With that being said, he has scored fewer than 26 points in seven of those 10 games. Excluding his two massive performances, Mitchell is averaging only 23.9 points per game. He gets a tough matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, who love slowing the pace down and rank in the top-10 of the NBA in points allowed per game against point guards and shooting guards. Mitchell is also averaging only 13.0 points in 36.4 minutes per game against Memphis this season. I want to side with the over on Mike Conley, but the numbers simply don’t lean that way. He has recorded less than seven assists in each of his last five games, averaging only 3.8 assists per game over that span. More importantly, he gets a matchup against the Utah Jazz, who lead the NBA in assists allowed (7.0) per game. Conley is expected to see full minutes tonight, but he’s averaging only 4.0 assists in 34.3 minutes per game against Utah this season, and he could see similar struggles tonight.

Play $50 on Donovan Mitchell UNDER 25.5 points and Mike Conley UNDER 6.5 assists to win $116 (2.32x)

Over Under 2/2 – Philadelphia 76ers/Houston Rockets

This may be a bit of a risky play, but it’s a calculated risk for essentially 2.5x. It looks like Ben Simmons will be ruled out tonight (at least over a 50% chance at this point). If that’s the case, Tobias Harris will see more usage tonight, although Jimmy Butler would likely “lead” the offense. If Simmons plays, Harris still has a very real chance to exceed 21 points with Joel Embiid injured. Harris is averaging 22.9 points on 15.8 shot attempts, 6.5 three-point attempts, and 4.3 free throw attempts per game over his last eight games. Harris has also scored 21+ points in five of those eight games. This is purely a matchup based play. Clint Capela is averaging 12.3 rebounds in 34.4 minutes per game since returning from injury. He’ll see major minutes again with Kenneth Faried out tonight. On the other end, Embiid and Boban Marjanovic have been ruled out for the Philadelphia 76ers. They simply don’t have talented enough bigs to slow Capela down in the paint, and he’s coming off of a 15 rebound performance against the Toronto Raptors.

Play $50 on Tobias Harris OVER 20.5 points and Clint Capela OVER 13.5 rebounds to win $125.50 (2.51x)
