Ben’s Building Blocks – NBA Cash Game Plays for 11/5/18

Point Guard

Top Tier: Russell Westbrook- My initial lean on this slate is to jam in both Westbrook and Anthony Davis, as I have this game graded out as the clear best of the night and I anticipate it being a close contest. Westy just dropped 50 fantasy points in under 30 minutes against the Wizards, and if this game stays close he can easily smash that threshold.

Mid Tier: Ricky Rubio- With Donovan Mitchell out tonight, Rubio will be one of the highest-owned guards on the slate and for good reason. He easily beat 30 fantasy points the last game Mitchell missed, and with his usage/shot attempts increasing with him off the floor he’s too cheap not to play in all formats.

Low Tier: Tyus Jones- With Jeff Teague out, and Derrick Rose questionable, Tyus Jones has secure minutes once again in the second best overall game on the slate. His ceiling isn’t massive, but his floor is decent given the minutes he will see and you’re always protected from this on FanDuel given the low score is dropped.

Shooting Guard

Top Tier: Zach LaVine- He hasn’t posted under 30 DraftKings points in a game yet this season and he remains top-ten in the NBA in usage rate. This is a great matchup with the Knicks defense and LaVine is looking like a strong cash game play on Monday night.

Mid Tier: Evan Fournier- He will continue to see locked in minutes and he sporting a career-high usage rate this season. He’s taken on more of a scoring role this season and the Cavaliers are one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA.

Low Tier: Damyean Dotson- If Tim Hardaway Jr is out for the Knicks tonight, Dotson will be leaned on heavily to score the ball and he gets an above-average matchup with the Chicago Bulls so-called defense.

Small Forward

Top Tier: Kevin Durant- I don’t see myself having room to spend up for Small Forward tonight, but if I do Durant is the most trustworthy on this slate. Durant owns a higher-floor than the next option Paul George, and I’m not as afraid of attacking the Memphis Grizzlies as I have been in the past.

Mid Tier: Joe Ingles- I’m not sure how high Jingles ceiling really is, but his minutes are and he’s going to see more shot attempts without Mitchell in the lineup. He almost hit 38 minutes the last time Mitchell sat out and I expect a similar allotment tonight.

Low Tier: Mario Hezonja (FanDuel, if THJ Out)- If Tim Hardaway Jr is out tonight for the Knicks, that opens up more stable minutes for Hezonja and he makes for a great punt play on FanDuel where you are protected by the lowest score being dropped.

Power Forward

Top Tier: Anthony Davis- He’s listed as probable, and in the best game of the night I want to lock him in given the value we have. This should be a close game with the Thunder and I’m expecting a monster game from the Brow.

Mid Tier: Blake Griffin- He’s among the league leaders in touches per game and some more shots open up with some of the Pistons injuries. It wil be tough to fit him in with Russ/AD, but he is a great play in all formats tonight.

Low Tier: Aaron Gordon (DraftKings)- He’s coming off 41 minutes yesterday, but the minutes are even more secure with Jonathan Isaac out and he has an elite matchup with the Cavs who have been decimated by big men this season. He’s way too cheap on DK making him a key part of my core tonight.

Top Tier: Nikola Jokic- Nobody is spending up at center tonight with two elite value plays. Joker has some of the highest upside on the slate and will be under 10% tonight making him an elite GPP play.

Mid Tier: Boban Marjanovic- This was going to be my cash game lock of the night, but with Whiteside out that has transitioned to our next player. I still think Boban is a cash game staple on DraftKings and I will be starting my teams with both him and Bam locked in C/UTIL.

Low Tier: Bam Adebayo- This is the clear chalk play of the night with Hassan Whiteside ruled out, he has FPPM ability and is a lock for me in cash games on all sites.
