Thoughts:

Updates to come to this section as we approach lock so continue to check back for more insight.

  • The first thing that stands out to me on this slate is the need to fit two centers into your lineup on Draftkings.  Specifically, players who are only eligible at the center position that project for a great value.  Some examples of players I’m looking to combine in lineups include
    • Karl Anthony Towns
    • Joel Embiid
    • Andre Drummond
    • Rudy Gobert
    • Myles Turner
    • Nikola Vucevic
    • Hassan Whiteside
    • Clint Capea
  • All the centers listed above project as positive values on this slate and will all be included in my player pool tonight.  Something to think about when making a GPP lineup or entering a top-heavy contest…. ownership does matter.  With players that are only single-position eligible on Draftkings you dramatically decrease the dupes you’ll see of this two player combo by using your UTIL spot on a center.  Something to think about when entering tonight.
  • The top play on the slate is KAT so this should be very easy to do given that KAT will be in a lot of your lineups to start off with.
  • I’m likely going with a 2 stud approach (Kat and either Harden/Giannis) in my single entry/3-max GPPs today and pairing them with a mid-high tier center as stated above.
  • To construct a lineup like this we are going to need value.  Some value options I’m considering on this slate include:
    • Bogdan Bogdanovic
    • Patrick Beverly
    • Dario Saric
    • Dwayne Bacon
    • David Bertans
    • Dewayne Dedmon
    • Eric Gordon
    • Nemanja Bjelica
    • Markelle Fultz
    • Harrison Barnes
    • Landry Shamet
  • Sticking to the roster construction approach I laid out above should lead to success in your tournament lineups tonight.
  • Next, I am going to be focused on exposing myself to high total games with tight spreads when stacking in GPPs.
    • One of the most underrated parts of NBA DFS is game stacking.  The amount of times game stacks are utilized compared to the number of overtimes we see in the NBA is extremely underutilized.
    • When playing the 50,000 person GPP’s, you should be picking a game that you think will be competitive with a chance to go to overtime.  We gain a ton of additional value when a game goes to overtime and we have the relevant DFS plays from that game stacked up.
    • Make sure to focus on the games I listed in the table above when looking to stack a game tonight in GPP.
