Thoughts:

Updates to come to this section as we approach lock so continue to check back for more insight.

  • When analyzing the projected values on this slate and looking at the different options available filtered by position, it becomes clear where you should be capitalizing to gain leverage in GPPS today.
  • There is SO much fantastic value at the guard position, which is extremely deep.  The forward and center position is much less so.  So you’re probably wondering how this affects your roster construction today…
  • First, let’s start with center.  Al Horford is a PF/C eligible player which means some people will be using him at the F position on Draftkings.  MISTAKE.  Horford’s current projection has his projected value over double that of the 2nd highest value at the center on the board.  At forward, however,   Horford drops to 5th on that list.  There is actually ZERO opportunity cost when playing Horford at center versus 4 “better” plays you can make at the forward position.  At the power forward spot on Draftkings, Horford still sits atop the list but teammate Tobias Harris and Gordon Hayward project very closely.
  • Another key roster construction approach today should be using the players that are G/F eligible and specifically keying them into your FORWARD positions.  On a day where the guard position is so stacked, there is zero reason to use LeBron James at the point guard position.  He should strictly be an SF or forward for you tonight.
  • Utilize your UTIL tonight specifically with a guard eligible player.  If you’re having issues identifying the deep position tonight here are the top players that are NOT forward eligible (I have more in my player pool):
    • Kemba Walker
    • Russell Westbrook
    • Malcolm Brogdon
    • Damian Lillard
    • James Harden
    • De’Aaron Fox
    • Zach LaVine
    • Derrick Rose
    • Kyrie Irving
    • Chris Paul
    • Dennis Schroeder
  • Obviously it is important to stay up to date on what value opens up closer to lock and weigh extreme value decisions (due to rest/injury).
