Thoughts:

Updates to come to this section as we approach lock so continue to check back for more insight.

  • Low-Key a star-studded slate tonight in terms of builds and ways to approach the slate.  Based on early ownership projections it seems that paying for the mid-tier value at PF/C will be an EXTREMELY popular build.  You see this with guys like Blake Griffin, David Bertans, Wendell Carter, Kevin Love, and Draymond Green.
  • While all of these guys are great plays tonight, you can do wonder’s differentiating and building some leverage off the field by paying UP at these positions for guys who post similar value scores and looking to find sharp mid-tier value plays else where.
  • A build approach I would take tonight if playing some single entry/3-max tournaments would be to plug in Karl-Anthony Towns who ranks as the top value at the center position on the slate.  Kristapas Porzingis at PF, who ranks as the top PF/C on the slate.  And finally, Jayson Tatum, who is projecting under 15% ownership while ranked as the best value at the forward position on the slate.
  • After plugging these three players in we are left with $4,780 per player to fill out the rest of our lineup so obviously we need some value.
  • Some value guard options I’m including in my pool tonight are Josh Okogie (29 minute projection at 3.9k), THJ (big minutes boost and usage rate up to the mid 20s with the Doncic injury – volatile but high upside), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (one of the NBA’s most underrated players, elite minutes projection 35+ with a higher usage rate projection than Kyle Lowry who is priced 1.6k more.
  • Even if Drummond plays, it may be hard to ignore Blake Griffin tonight so keep an eye on that play.  5.9k is just too cheap to fade.
  • Based on what happens with late news, we may be plugging in Blake Griffin as a lock tonight if Andre Drummond is out and potentially vice versa, so obviously stay up to date with late news and adjust your lineups accordingly.  A good way to see where I’m at closer to lock is to purchase our core plays package which you can access at dfskarma.com/shop.  I usually will make an update to my core 10 minutes before lock if there was any news that affected my build.
  • A game stack I’m finding myself high on tonight is the Celtics vs Mavericks.
      • With the Doncic injury, we are going to see more volatile rotations in the coming days meaning more unpredictability we can take advantage of if approached correctly.  This game-stack will go completely overlooked given it isn’t that elite total but 217.5 is completely fine in terms of a game stacking perspective.
      • From the Celtics: Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, and Daniel Thies
      • From the Maverics: Kristapas Porzingis, Tim Hardaway, Dorian Finney Smith, Jalen Brunson, and Maxi Kleber.
