Bobby’s NBA GPP Breakdown (12/19/18)

Massive 12 game slate tonight so I’m going to go over my top 3 GPP plays at each position! Let’s get into my top GPP plays for this slate.   You can access my CORE GPP Plays by signing up for an NBA package at dfskarma.com!

AS NBA is a game where last-minute real-life changes are made before tipoff, always monitor breaking news up to last second!

The plays below in this daily article are low owned pivots and GPP plays.  This means that these players will be RELATIVELY low owned and ‘contrarian’ relative to the more highly owned, chalky plays of the night.

BALL IN!

Point Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Ricky Rubio: Rubio’s price has come down significantly from the last time I can recall rostering him where he was priced in the upper 6k range.  Tonight he is 5.7k in a matchup against the Golden State Warriors with a modest 218 over/under that I believe will hit the over.  Rubio is around a fantasy point per min. scorer and has actually shot decent this year with a better true shooting % than Westbrook. If Rubio can rack up the assists as he usually does he’ll easily smash his price tag tonight.
  2. De’Aaron Fox: Fox is breaking out in his second year in the NBA and it would be sharp to get exposure to him in DFS in his ascension to stardom.  Fox’s price has come down slightly but people still aren’t comfortable playing him at 7k especially on a big slate.  Fox has been scoring an INSANE 1.19 FP/min over the course of the past month (higher than Jrue Holiday who should have 2x Fox’s ownership tonight).
  3. Malik Monk: If you’re dumpster diving there are a few options I like alongside with Monk (VanFleet/Augustin).  However, Monk has the highest upside of the three with the only thing holding him back is the minutes he gets in this rotation.  Monk is coming off a 27 minute game and consistently sees an INSANE usage rate while he’s on the floor.  If Monk can get over 25 minutes again tonight he can push for 10x at 3.3k.

Shooting Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Eric Gordon: Eric Gordon comes to me as one of my favorite plays on the slate where he’s priced at only 4.4k.  Gordon’s 3-point ability gives him massive upside on Draftkings where he is still consistently shooting over 10 times per game.  This is the biggest pace up matchup on the slate and if you’re not paying up for Harden, play Gordon.
  2. Derrick Rose: Rose has flashed his upside all season and hasn’t slown down despite less talk about his play of late.  This is a fantastic matchup against a Detroit backcourt known for their weak defense.
  3. Terry Rozier: There is a great chance the Celtics blow the doors off the Suns in this game they’re favored by 12 points.  Rozier is already a decent play with his normal allotment of minutes, if he gets extended run he’ll dominate at this price point.

Small Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Trevor Ariza: I was all in on Ariza the other day and it payed off huge where he alost hit 10x.  I think Ariza has similair upside tonight in what should be a very high scoring game against his former team.  The revenge narrative should boost his ownership a bit but I believe it will be a #factor tonight in Ariza’s confidence and we could see an increase in his shot attempts.  At this price Ariza is a lock tonight.
  2. Nemanja Bjelica: People aren’t going to play him because of when he busted at 65% ownership two nights ago.  I was a DFS’er that suffered from his 3.5 DK point score.  However, that was a fluke with the rotation and will not be the case tonight.  Bjelica is one of the best plays on the slate in all formats.
  3. Robert Covington: We know what we’re getting with Covington.  Heavy minutes, steals + blocks, some rebounds, some three-pointers, and an assist or two.  If Covington can put together an OK game against the Pistons he will cruise to value.

Power Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Pascal Siakam: Siakam is becoming one of my favorite players in the NBA and in DFS that no one knows about.  Siakam is a very good player and his price has come down to the point where I may have 100% tonight.  Siakam at 5.7k on Draftkings needs to be in your lineups.
  2. Bobby Portis: Insanely high usage rate when on the court for a big priced under 5k.  Great matchup agasint Brooklyn and should see an uptick in minutes.
  3. DeMarre Carroll: Carroll is still priced under 4k? Lol.  Carroll has 30 DK point upside and is in a rotation where he will be leaned on more in the second half of the Nets back to back.  I know this team and I guarantee Carroll plays over his 25 minutes projection.  He’s a fantastic play.

Center

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Mo Bamba: Don’t miss this one tonight.  He’s going to be 70% owned and you’ll likely need him in your lineups to compete.
  2. Steven Adams: Literally one of the best matchups in the NBA tonight and no one will have him.  Adams could easily go for over 50 DK points tonight.
  3. Jarrett Allen: I don’t know why his minute’s projection is so low as this is a matchup Allen feasts in against less bulky opposing centers.  Allen is priced where he should be at 5.5k but I love the pace and matchup he gets.  (Heads up: Brooklyn’s pace has been the top in the NBA over there 6 game win streak).
