Bobby’s NBA GPP Breakdown (2/7/19)

This is honestly one of the worst DFS slates on the year in some aspects and a good one in some others.  We have a 6-game slate that will almost definitely be affected by some trades going on within the league. We’ll try to find some spots to expose in my article today.  Make sure as usual to leverage some of my TOP GPP options with a core of chalkier plays. Let’s get into my top GPP plays for this slate.   You can access my CORE GPP Plays by signing up for an NBA package at dfskarma.com!

AS NBA is a game where last-minute real-life changes are made before tipoff, always monitor breaking news up to last second!

The plays below in this daily article are low owned pivots and GPP plays.  This means that these players will be RELATIVELY low owned, and ‘contrarian’ relative to the more highly owned, chalky plays of the night.

BALL IN!

Point Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Kyle Lowry: This is going to end up being a fairly chalky slate so I’m going to keep this article consise and try to offer more insight who I’m revolving my lineups in Discord closer to lock after we can digest all the information coming out with trades/buyouts.  Lowry is for sure going to be playing tonight and he has one of my favorite spots to target in NBA DFS in the backcourt of the Hawks.  Although Lowry has not been as hot as he had been coming out of the gate this season, this matchup with Trae Young should be an easy one for Lowry to dominate.  His price is all the way down 7.1k and can easily go for over 50DK points tonight.
  2. Kyrie Irving: Irving is a guy not a lot of people will want to pay up for at 9.5k but his insane production over the last month (1.45 FP/min), which is a result of contributing with a lot more rebounds and really racking up a ton of assists.  Obviously we’re expecting a major usage rate coming from Irving tonight against LeBron and the Lakers.  This price tag will not scare me off Irving and he may end up being contrarian tonight.

Shooting Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Fred VanVleet:  Staying on brand with targeting this Hawks backcourt with one of the most underrated players in the NBA in FVV.  Vavleet has been on par with how he has been playing this season averaging similair fantasy production while seeing a slighllty increased amount of minutes behind Lowry. This game has an insane 235 total and a lot of players will be hitting value here so it will be essential to get the right player’s similair to how we nailed the Nets players last night.  Both Lowry + FVV should be locked in for solid minutes and both in my opinion, are underppriced given this matchup.

Small Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Danny Green: While I likely won’t have both FVV, Lowry, and Green in the same lineup, Green has been much more productive over the course of the last month averaging over .85 FP/min a significant boost off his season average.  Again, not to beat a dead horse but this backcourt is going to one of the spots I’m getting overexposed to.  While Green has had some consecutive down games, he recently popped off for a major 47.25 DK point game and obviously has a fantastic ceiling at just 4k.
  2. Bojan Bogdanovic: We’ve seen Bojan pop off for some big games since Oladipo has gone down but I am still waiting for that 50+ DK point game I know that he is capable of.  Bojan’s consistent usage has taken a quite big spike since the injury to Dipo and is playing heavy minutes in order to keep the Pacers afloat in a now more compeititve east.  Bojan hasn’t seen a signifcant price increase sincne the injruy either leading me to stay on brand with the assumption he’s underpriced right now.  A massive game is on the way and I’m going to have exposure when it does.

Power Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Jaren Jackson: With Gasol gone, Jaren Jackson is now the up and coming star on this team behind Mike Conley.  Jackson is going to see heavy minutes now and has recently started coming into his own as an NBA player.  Jackson has been now averaging close to a fantasy point per minute while getting a major increase in projected minutes.  The game total here is going to scare people off of Jackson in a spot he likely should be chalk.
  2. Danilo Gallinari:  The Clippers don’t have a ton of players available and I’m going to get exposure to these guys and soak up as much value I can.  This is a smilair situation to the Raptors and Gallinari is a player capable of scoring more than 40 DK points at just 6k on Draftkings tonight.  The difference between his price on Draftkings and Fanduel is definitely something to capitalize on where it seems DK made the mistake of having him priced too low tonight.

Center

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Montrezl Harrell: With Tobias and Boban gone, we’re going to see an increased role for Harrell who has flashed his upside all season when given the oppurtunity.  Now projected into the starting lineup I expect him and Gillinari to be able to produce in a big way as the Clippers will likely still fight to keep the 8th spot in the West.  Harrell is an insane FP/min scorer when on the court and should be in line for a nice minute’s bump.  7.2k is likely not enough of an increase in his price to compensate for being added to the starting lineup with Harris and Boban gone.
