Bobby’s NBA GPP Top Plays (2/12/19)

If you guys weren’t checking out twitter, my man @Potts612 on twitter hit for a huge $20,000 last night taking down the Fanduel Slam utilizing the free content at dfskarma.com.  Today’s a short slate so I’m going to keep my article short similair to AP’s style listing my top gpp play per position with a short analysis.  My core has been on fire of late so make sure to check that out tonight by purchasing the NBA Core Plays package at dfskarma.com/shop. Make sure as usual to leverage some of my TOP GPP options with a core of chalkier plays. Let’s get into my top GPP plays for this slate.

AS NBA is a game where last-minute real-life changes are made before tipoff, always monitor breaking news up to last second!

The plays below in this daily article are low owned pivots and GPP plays. This means that these players will be RELATIVELY low owned, and ‘contrarian’ relative to the more highly owned, chalky plays of the night.  I emphasize upside/leverage over ownership, particularly in NBA DFS.

BALL IN!

Point Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Trae Young: This is actually a fantastic price for Young on Draftkings at just 6.7k where he should be getting a slight minutes boost with the departure on Jeremy Lin.  Young is projected tonight for over 34 minutes something we don’t see very often from him and his usage rate will supposedly be north of 27%.  His current price does not take into account his increase workload tonight and is one of the best plays available on a short slate.

Shooting Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Reggie Bullock: Bullock has been having a great year from 3PT range this season and I like him to slide right into a significant role for the Lakers who desperately need a consistent shooter.  At just 3.4k Bullock will have times for this team where he spikes for double-digit three-point attempts.  Don’t let Sunday’s game scare you off Bullock in which he shot just 1-5 from the field.  If he’s playing 30+ minutes he will shine at this price point. He’s notably projected to be low-owned tonight in DFS.

Small Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Taurean Prince:  I’ve been riding Prince his last few contests and I haven’t gotten a hit yet but I’m sticking with him in what I believe are optimal spots.  Prince’s poor play has only increased his chances for a huge game with his DK price currently at 4.5k.  Prince has had a bit of low volume shooting games lately which has led to some low scoring fantasy games.  I’m hoping the departure of the high usage Lin will boost his usage a bit and in turn give him the opportunity for a big game.  Matched up with LeBron James tonight, the former D-Leaguer Prince should be giving full effort and looking to pull off the upset.

Power Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Aaron Gordon: After a pretty stretch of 40+ DK point games Gordon has cooled off a bit but has that same volatility in his fantasy scoring.  On a short slate, I’m going to look to capitalize on this volatility.  This game is as good for any from a scoring perspective tonight (outside of the outlier of Hawks/Lakers) and Gordon should be locked in for his usual 22+ usage role tonight.

Center

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Joel Embiid: I love this price for Embiid in a spot people are going to play the much more volatile McGee at 2-3x the ownership levels.  Paying up for center today seems like a solid way to differentiate yourself and is always key on a shorter slate (especially on Fanduel).  Embiid has that slate breaking upside and you know he will be showing up for a game against eastern conference rivals, the Celtics.  Embiid is averaging 1.7 FP/min over the last month.  Lock him in.
