Joey’s NBA DFS Value Plays for Draftkings 01/25/21

What’s up Karma Nation! Welcome to another edition of my Value Plays article. In this article, I will be focusing solely on DraftKings. Always remember that the value on DraftKings is not always the value on FanDuel, or any other site you are playing on. If you haven’t signed up for core plays yet, make sure to do so by clicking here. We have daily, weekly, monthly, and season-long packages. You can try us out for as little as $5!

Value is mainly determined by two things: injury news or lazy pricing. A player could be underpriced because salaries came before injury news. A site can also be lazy and not raise the price of a player who has been playing way above their price, and getting the minutes to prove it’s sustainable.

If you are familiar with NBA DFS you know the best value could open up minutes before the slate locks. So, make sure to check back later in the day, the best value plays for the slate may change depending on if we get injury news we were not expecting or that we were waiting for all day. I will be providing an update at the bottom of the article if there is a need for it. There will be times we receive news less than an hour before lock, that is where it is vital to join our discord for free. Whether it is on the free side or the premium side there will always be people discussing injury news and how it has impacted the slate.

Isaiah Roby $4,600:

Draftkings refuses to raise Roby’s price above $5000 and I will continue playing him for easy 6x value in good matchups. After coming off his first 30 point fantasy game, DK raised his price to $900. Now after another 30+ point fantasy game, they actually lowered his from $100. So you are getting him at a discount today. Roby is another player that has taken advantage of an injury to a veteran starter. He is averaging 11.63 DK points per game, 15. minutes per game, and a 16.4% usage rate without Horford. This turns into 27.71 DK points per game, 26.3 minutes per game, and an 18.4% usage rate without Horford.

Roby gets to match up against the Portland Trail Blazers who have struggled defensively all year. The loss of Jusuf Nurkic did not help because I’m sure we all know that Enes Kanter plays no defense. Kanter has started the past three games against the Knicks, Hawks, and Spurs. Mitchell Robinson put up 8 points and 9 nines, Clint Capela put up 25 points and 15 rebounds, and LaMarcus Aldrige put up 22 points and 2 rebounds. Capela and Aldrige have both had ceiling scoring games. LMA put up the third-most points of the season in only 24 minutes. While Capela put up the second-most points of the season.

The projections portal is showing Isaiah Roby as the best value play on the slate and projected for 25.26 fantasy points. Roby appears in 18 out of 20 lineups in the cash game optimizer making him a great cash play.

Jeff Teague $3,700:

Kemba Walker will be missing the 12th game of the season and his first since coming back from injury on the 17th. Teague sees a huge but obvious increase with Kemba inactive vs active. Teague is averaging 6.56 DK points per game, 15.7 minutes per game, and a 15% usage rate without Kemba. This turns into 18.56 DK points per game, 20.0 minutes per game, and a 19.6% usage rate without Kemba.

The Celtics get an easy matchup against the Bulls today. The Bulls rank second in pace, are 4th worst in defensive efficiency, and give up the 4th most points in the league. Grabbing a cheap point guard and center to start your lines should put you in a great spot to cash tonight.

The projections portal is showing Jeff Teague as the best value play on the slate and projected for 23.06 fantasy points. Teague only appears in 5 out of 20 lineups in the cash game optimizer making him more of a small field SE GPP play.
