Joey’s NBA Value Plays for DraftKings 01/21/2021

What’s up Karma Nation! Welcome to another edition of my Value Plays article. In this article, I will be focusing solely on DraftKings. Always remember, the value on DraftKings is not always the value on FanDuel, or any other site you are playing on. If you haven’t signed up for core plays yet, make sure to do so by clicking HERE. We have daily, weekly, monthly, and season-long packages. You can try us out for as little as $5!

Value is mainly determined by two things: injury news or lazy pricing. A player could be underpriced because salaries came before injury news. A site can also be lazy and not raise the price of a player who has been playing way above their price, and getting the minutes to prove it’s sustainable.

If you are familiar with NBA DFS you know the best value could open up minutes before the slate locks. So, make sure to check back later in the day, the best value plays for the slate may change depending on if we get injury news we were not expecting or that we were waiting for all day. I will be providing an update at the bottom of the article if there is a need for it. There will be times we receive news less than an hour before lock, that is where it is vital to join our discord for free. Whether it is on the free side or the premium side there will always be people discussing injury news and how it has impacted the slate.

Immanuel Quickley $4,100:

Quickley is my favorite value play on the board by far tonight. The 25th overall pick in this year’s draft wasn’t supposed to come in and be an instant contributor like he is now and is outshining Obi Toppin so far. Who was the number 8 overall pick for the Knicks. Quickley is coming off a dud game where he only had 15.8 fantasy points. Before that game, he was averaging 27.1 DK points and saw over 20 minutes on all three of those games. Quickley did most of his work last game in the first half where he saw 13 of his 15 minutes. Austin Rivers is expecting to be out tonight. This should solidify Quickley as the first man off the bench and the main bench scorer. He has also seen a 30%+ usage rate in the last four games. This including his dud game last time. So he should be able to get right back up to value tonight with 8x potential. On a small slate like tonight, he will be one of my staples.

The projections portal is showing Immanuel Quickley as a great value play on the slate and projected for 19.48 fantasy points.

James Wiseman $4,500:

Wiseman dominated for us last night. Easily reaching value against a bad Spurs team, even while barely playing in the 4th quarter due to a blowout win. Wiseman is slowly getting his confidence higher and higher. The second overall pick in this year’s draft has had some trouble transitioning into the pros but Draymond Green seems to be really working with him to improve his game. Which we saw come true last night as he dropped a season-high 20 points. One of the main issues with playing him in DFS is his foul troubles. He has posted at least 4 fouls in 3 straight games prior to last night and only saw 13 minutes against the Lakers because of early foul trouble. This makes me shy away from him in cash games, but love his ceiling in GPPs. He sees a tough matchup against the Knicks, who rank last in pace. So the opportunities are not the same as they have been in the past, but at his low price, he should still be able to pay off value as long as he doesn’t get into foul trouble.

The projections portal is showing James Wiseman as a great value play on the slate and projected for 23.20 fantasy points.
