NBA Betting 10/19/18 – Bales’ MyBookie Bets

Sacramento Kings (+575)/New Orleans Pelicans (-825)

If this total raises much more, I likely won’t be making this bet. As it is, though, it’s difficult to pass on taking the New Orleans Pelicans offense. They led the NBA in pace last season, and it’s clear they’re going to be playing at an extremely fast pace against this season. New Orleans scored 131 points against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, while the Sacramento Kings allowed a defensive-minded Utah Jazz team to score 123 points that night. In turn, Sacramento was able to score 117 points against Utah, who features one of the best defenses in the NBA. While Sacramento is a young team that likely won’t win many games this season, they have a plethora of scorers that they can put on the court. New Orleans is a team that simply outscores their opponents, which should lead to another high scoring game tonight.

Oklahoma City Thunder (N/A)

The Oklahoma City Thunder are in a good position tonight. Russell Westbrook is a game-time decision, but the line is set as if he has been ruled out. If Westbrook can suit up tonight, the line will likely shift significantly towards Oklahoma City. If Westbrook is out, I still like them as a pick ‘em. Oklahoma City kept their game with the Golden State Warriors somewhat close on Tuesday, losing by only eight points. The next night, the Los Angeles Clippers lost to a solid Denver Nuggets squad. Regardless of Westbrook’s status, Oklahoma City has a star – Paul George – to run the offense with multiple above average – Dennis Schroder, Steven Adams – helping out. The Clippers have a deep team, but lack the same star power that the Clippers have. I’m siding with PG13 (and potentially Westbrook) in this matchup.

Bet 2 units on the Oklahoma City PK to win 1.8 units (-110)

Golden State Warriors (-150)/Utah Jazz (+130)

This is an interesting matchup. I wanted to get a piece of this game, but wasn’t overly interested in the moneyline or spread. Instead, I’m opting for the over. The Golden State Warriors feature one of the fastest paced teams in the NBA, and they feature an offense that can score on anyone. The Utah Jazz struggled against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, allowing them to score 117 points. While Utah didn’t flash an elite defense in that game, they have flashed tremendous offensive potential with seven players scoring 10+ points. The Jazz could potentially be a more offensive team this season with the way their roster is built, and that bodes well for the over in this game.

Bet 3 units on the Golden State/Utah OVER 217 to win 2.6 units (-115)
