NBA DFS 1/21/23 – Spike’s Building Blocks

What’s up everyone and welcome to Spike’s Building Blocks! If you’ve never read my content before, welcome. To those that have, welcome back. I truly appreciate everyone that reads and supports during NBA season. This article is designed for me to highlight the top plays of the day. Obviously, things can change rapidly in the NBA with injury news close to lock, so I would be sure to subscribe to our premium package for access to our Final Thoughts cheat sheet, our premium discord channel and my core plays. Our Core Plays product gives you the ability to tail all of our analysts in your contests each night. We do the work for you, and you simply plug and play with our premium Core Plays. With that being said, let’s hop into the plays…

Building Blocks

Darius Garland

Mitchell has already been ruled out so Garland gets a solid usage bump right off the bat. The Bucks are middle of the pack against guards but there are still plenty of ways for him to find success. In his last two games Darius has averaged about 53 fanatsy points without him and just isn’t priced right here. Shooting a ton more and is a big time facilitator already for Cleveland. We got him projected for around 20% ownership but I wouldn’t be surprised if that spikes to 25% before tip off.

Mikal Bridges

We are still waiting on a ton of news and a big one is DeAndre Ayton. Either way, Mikal makes for a great play tonight. CP3 and Booker are still out and Bridges has been thriving without them. Such a big usage bump and it’s a matchup against the Pacers who have their own struggles and injuries going on. I fully expect this to stay close and be competitive. Averaging around 40 fantasy points in their absence, Mikal makes for a great option tonight

Note: Still waiting on some injury news that has yet to drop so stay tuned in the discord channels to get updated on it! There will be a TON of value opening up once everything is decided!

Value Plays

Dennis Smith Jr

Lamelo has been confirmed out for tonight’s game. This means Dennis should probably start and be in line for a ton of minutes. I assume he does a 75/25 split for ball handling with Rozier and he is priced at or around 4k across all sites. This is probably the top value play on a slate with a lot of value. If this goes into blowout mode I think he still plays as well. Projection portal has him looking at about 27 fantasy points with a ceiling of 42. I don’t think there is any way you don’t roster him across all formats.

OwnersBox Top Play

If you’ve never checked out OwnersBox Fantasy — CLICK HERE and use Promo Code KARMA for a 100% deposit match up to $500 along with a free $10 DFS contest entry. The great thing about OwnersBox is the super-flex format and it allows for some really unique builds without having to force certain positions into your lineups.

Saban Lee

Getting a second 10 day contract, Saban should be in line for another start after a solid performance against Brooklyn. He is under 4k on Ownersbox and makes for a solid play to get up to some other studs. Even in a mediocre performance he will exceed his value and the matchup is fantastic on top of that. Don’t overthink this, plug him in and move on!
