NBA DFS 1/24/23 | Injuries to Monitor

NBA DFS is widely popular among DFS players, but also one of the most time consuming to research. Players rest and sit-out daily, and this makes accurate minutes projections some of the most valuable information when building lineups. DFS Karma does the work for you in our Projections Portal — with minutes, fantasy points, value and more rates projected out nightly in an easy to read table. You can gain access to the projections by signing up for an NBA premium subscription here. This article will aim to identify some of the important injury situations to monitor throughout the day, and give you an idea of where to go if/when news breaks. Let’s get into Tuesday…

Players Listed As Questionable

The NBA has had fantastic scheduling the past few weeks, there have been minimal small slates and we have another solid seven games on Tuesday. For now, there are only a few key spots to watch. Things can always pop up later in the day, and I’ll do my best to highlight the bigger names for now.  I’ll be around to answer any questions throughout the day in Discord. You can join the Discord for free here.

The DFS prices used below are for the daily main slate on OwnersBox Fantasy. If you’ve never checked out OwnersBox Fantasy — CLICK HERE and use Promo Code KARMA for a 100% deposit match up to $500 along with a free $10 DFS contest entry.

Lamelo Ball ($7,000)

I don’t see how he is being listed as Q to play because I don’t think he’s really close to being ready to play. Maybe I’m wrong, but if he’s out big bumps to Terry Rozier and Gordon Hayward while the other starters get increased rates as well. They played last night, so we likely won’t get this official news until close to lock time.

Nikola Jokic ($7,800) and Michael Porter ($5,300)

Joker has missed a few games due to this hamstring injury, and this would definitely change the entire slate once again if he’s out. Zeke Nnaji has been starting in his place, while Jamal Murray, Bones Hyland and the other Nuggets starters see increased usage. Porter Jr is also listed as Q tonight, which would mean Bruce Brown starts in his place if out. Porter’s tag is for a personal reason, so I would assume he is closer to out than questionable. Check back to my Building Blocks article later today for my updated take on the Nuggets.

LeBron James ($8,000)

It seems that James gets listed as questionable every slate, but rarely misses the game. Los Angeles started pretty much as bad as possible this season, but have made up a ton of ground in the standings despite Anthony Davis being sidelined for an extended period. We can expect LeBron to continue to carry a massive minutes load for the foreseeable future. If he gets ruled out, however, we could see Wenyen Gabriel start in his place and Russ Westbrook/Dennis Schroder would become top plays. It’s worth noting that Kendrick Nunn will be out tonight after being traded, which could mean extra minutes for Christie and the other guards.

Andrew Nembhard ($4,600)

This doesn’t seem like huge news, but TJ McConnell has had some monster games recently and would be a top value option on all sites if Nembhard were to miss this game.
