Important Notes

Welcome to my Stacks article specifically designed for StatHero! This will be the case on Fridays moving forward. Each of my stacks will outline three players on teams that I’m looking to use on this slate. There will be a fourth player that needs to be added to your StatHero stack, though, as each stack gets a total of four players from one team.

There is also a “1st Round Bonus Wildcard” player that needs to be selected. These Wildcards are generally some of the best players available on the slate. Ultimately, your StatHero team will feature four players from one team with a bonus player.

Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks rank second and 19th in the NBA in pace, respectively. Houston also ranks third in the league in offensive rating, while Dallas ranks 17th in defensive rating. The Rockets are currently -9 point favorites in a game set at 235 points, and they possess the second highest implied team total on the slate at 122 points tonight.

Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook has been one of the best fantasy options in the NBA in recent games. He’s averaging 36.0 points, 9.8 rebounds, 7.8 assists, and 2.3 steals (62.3 fantasy points) in 38.1 minutes per game over the last 10 days. Westbrook has scored 60+ fantasy points in 6 of his last 7 games, while boasting 70 fantasy point upside. He’s a player that has triple-double potential, while also boasting the ability to contribute in each of the five categories. Westbrook is expected to be locked into minutes in the high-30s, and he possesses one of the highest floors on the slate.

James Harden

James Harden has been ice cold recently. Still, he’s averaging 19.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.7 blocks, and 1.3 steals (36.6 fantasy points) in 34.4 minutes per game over the last 10 days. With that being said, Harden consistently posted 50+ fantasy points on a nightly basis prior to these recent struggles. He’s a player that also possesses 70+ fantasy point upside on a nightly basis, as well. Similarly to Westbrook, Harden can contribute in each of the five categories, and he’s expected to find minutes in the high-30s tonight. Harden also boasts one of the highest floors on the slate, and makes an elite option in a league where price tag isn’t a factor.

Clint Capela

Clint Capela is only averaging 28.2 minutes per game over the last 10 days. In that time, he’s averaging 10.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 2.8 blocks (30.8 fantasy points) per game. He scored 40+ fantasy points in 2 of those 4 games, as well. Capela saw limited minutes in each of his last 2 games, but he’s expected to see 30+ minutes in the game tonight. He will benefit from the lack of size in the Dallas frontcourt, and quietly boasts 20/20 potential. Capela makes an outstanding option in this matchup.

NOTE: Clint Capela has been ruled out. He can be replaced with either Eric Gordon or P.J. Tucker.

Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns and Oklahoma City Thunder currently rank ninth and 21st in the NBA in pace this season. Phoenix also ranks 16th in the league in offensive rating, while Oklahoma City ranks 12th in defensive rating. The Suns are +1 point underdogs in a game set at 222.5 points, but they still boast an implied team total of 110.8 points on this slate tonight.

Devin Booker

Devin Booker has been playing at an elite level. He’s averaging 31.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 6.4 assists (44.8 fantasy points) in 36.1 minutes per game over the last 10 days. He has been playing at a high level for significantly longer than that, though. He recently flashed 65+ fantasy point upside against the Boston Celtics. Booker is expected to find minutes in the high-30s, and he makes an outstanding option tonight.

Kelly Oubre Jr.

Kelly Oubre Jr. isn’t an overly consistent player, but he comes with tremendous upside. Over the last 10 days, he’s averaging 18.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.0 block (33.1 fantasy points) in 34.2 minutes per game. While Oubre has struggled over that span, he has scored 37.3 and 44.8 fantasy points in 2 of his last 3 games. He’s expected to find minutes in the mid- to high-30s tonight, adding to his upside. While his risk is evident, Oubre adds tremendous potential to this stack, and is a key factor in the Phoenix rotation.

Deandre Ayton

Deandre Ayton recently had a pair of bad games, but he looks to be beyond those. He’s averaging 18.6 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.6 steals (40.8 fantasy points) in 34.5 minutes per game over the last 10 days. Overall, Ayton has scored 47+ fantasy points in 5 of his last 7 games. He flashed 60 fantasy point upside over that span, as well. With Frank Kaminsky and Aron Baynes injured, Ayton is expected to be locked into big minutes tonight. He’s one of the most talented young centers in the NBA, and comes with elite potential once again on this slate.
