NBA DFS 1/7/23 | Injuries to Monitor

NBA DFS is widely popular among DFS players, but also one of the most time consuming to research. Players rest and sit-out daily, and this makes accurate minutes projections some of the most valuable information when building lineups. DFS Karma does the work for you in our Projections Portal — with minutes, fantasy points, value and more rates projected out nightly in an easy to read table. You can gain access to the projections by signing up for an NBA premium subscription here. This article will aim to identify some of the important injury situations to monitor throughout the day, and give you an idea of where to go if/when news breaks. Let’s get into Saturday night…

Players Listed As Questionable

We have a small four game slate locking at 8PM EST on Saturday night. There are several players already ruled out, including guys like Anthony Davis, Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and Bol Bol. Given the size of this slate, there is naturally less stuff to monitor throughout the day. That being said, random/new news can certainly pop up on the weekends and I’ll be in Discord breaking everything down. Let’s go!

LeBron James

LeBron is listed as questionable due to rest, though he wasn’t needed for truly massive minutes last night. Regardless, on the second leg of a back-to-back anything is open and should he miss this team would be very thin. Already down Anthony Davis and some supplementary pieces, look for Russell Westbrook, Dennis Schroder, Kendrick Nunn and Thomas Bryant to be the main targets from a DFS perspective.

Luka Doncic (P)

Luka is listed as probable, but he’s missed a few Saturday games this season and I wouldn’t be shocked to see him take a seat tonight. Christian Wood and Spencer Dinwiddie would be locks, while other guys like Tim Hardaway Jr would lead value projections as well. A lot can happen on this slate, and if Luka gets ruled out that would change the entire slate.

Austin Reaves/Lonnie Walker

Both these guys should be out tonight, which is what I was alluding to above. If LeBron happens to miss too, suddenly they’ve become super thin. Russ and Schroder are the big winners, but Kendrick Nunn actually has a 30% usage rate with LeBron and these two off the floor this season.

As I noted above, other than the guys that are already out there weirdly isn’t a ton to monitor today. I’m sure still will pop up, so stay tuned to discord and Final Thoughts in the mean-time.
