NBA DFS 10/27- Sriracha’s Building Blocks

The Core

Tobias Harris

Tobias has been stellar to start the year, averaging nearly a double double with 18 points and 9 boards. With Embiid set to miss Saturday’s game due to suspension, Harris should see a heavy workload and an increased usage rate. This should be a competitive game where Harris could be a focal point of the offense. Harris got over 41 FDP with a 29/7 stat line vs DET when Embiid was out, and at a cheap price point on both sites, Harris should be a cash lock.

Noah Vonleh

Pretty plain and simple here, KAT is out, Vonleh is projected to start and will see the bulk of the minutes. The best part? He’s a PF and has great upside and value at minimum price on FD. He is facing the Wizards as well, who have not been great at defending bigs or teams in general. This should be a face paced game where peripheral stats should come easily, compared to his last game against PHI where he received 27 minutes but faced a pretty hard defense.

Andrew Wiggins

The main beneficiary from KAT’s absence will the the “WigChucker” himself. KAT’s extremely high usage will be spread around to the entire team but Wiggins should be the go to guy on offense and sees himself in a nice matchup vs the Wizards, both teams should play fast and get tons of shots up. He is priced a little higher on DK and don’t mind it, but on FD he’s really nice at 6.6. (Last game he played

Value Plays

Skal Labissiere

Skal has been getting an avg of 19 fp for the two games Zach Collins has been out at near min price. With Whiteside not even practicing yesterday, we will see how he feels in the morning shoot-around to see if Skal will be a complete lock. There is no one else to play the big position besides him and Tolliver. Though he faces a tough matchup vs PHI, Embiid will not be a presence because of his suspension. Even if Whiteside ends up playing, he will see Kyle O Quinn on D, with Horford likely starting at the 5 for PHI.

Warriors Guards

With Curry out, a few bodies took his minutes, such as Jordan Poole and Damion Lee. Poole is a pure shooter that doesn’t acquire too many peripheral stats, but occasionally picks up a steal. He took 2nd most shots on the team against the Spurs last night, and with a better match-up tonight, he can hit the same FP.  Damion should have more upside with his ability to get rebounds and assists, but he will come off the bench which limits his usage. With Draymond also questionable and on the more negative side of playing, there is a good amount of usage to go around and compliment D’Angelo Russell. This is a direct quote from Draymond regarding his finger injury he sustained Friday night…

“I don’t know [about Saturday]; we’ll see. It’s pretty sore. I couldn’t grip the ball the whole entire [game], probably since the second quarter. Which is why I was making a lot of one-handed, right-handed passes and dribbling left with my right hand. I couldn’t really grip the ball, so we’ll see. Hopefully, it will calm down a little bit overnight, but who knows?”

Davis Bertans

I’m gonna admit it, I missed him last time around and didn’t realize his minutes are high and he just chucks. In a blow out, he’s guaranteed run and as shown in the very competitive last game against Houston, he got run as well. It’s another fast paced match-up at home vs Minnesota who is playing without Towns, and I believe Bertans gets a good opportunity to hit around the 20 fp range. He is still pretty cheap on DK where they have the 3 point bonus.

Tournament Plays

Al Horford

Al moved to the 5 spot last time when Embiid was out, and because of his suspension Al will do the same. He received a good amount of usage and scored a lot more than he usually would. He dropped 44.3 against DET and he will be needed on this competitive road match-up vs POR.

D’Angelo Russell

Look, this Warriors team did not look the same Friday night where they ran multiple pick n rolls due to the nature and play-style of DLO. Multiple times coming down the floor they would give him a high PNR and let him operate. He took 24 shots and was the prime beneficiary of Curry’s absence. Again, he is in an easier match-up against CHA and is going to be at home playing again. I can just imagine the usage he’ll get if Draymond sits.

Young Hornets (sneaky)

Golden State has been struggling and gave up 123 to the Spurs last night. Charlotte has been playing at an extremely high pace as well scoring 126, 121, 120, 111, and 118 in their first 5 games. Against a b2b struggling (seem to be 2nd unit starting) Warriors team, I see no reason why some player(s) such as Graham, Bacon, and Bridges, can’t go off in a fast paced game like this.
