NBA DFS 11/5/22 – Spike’s Building Blocks

What’s up everyone and welcome to Spike’s Building Blocks! If you’ve never read my content before, welcome. To those that have, welcome back. I truly appreciate everyone that reads and supports during NBA season. This article is designed for me to highlight the top plays of the day. Obviously, things can change rapidly in the NBA with injury news close to lock, so I would be sure to subscribe to our premium package for access to our Final Thoughts cheat sheet, our premium discord channel and my core plays. Our Core Plays product gives you the ability to tail all of our analysts in your contests each night. We do the work for you, and you simply plug and play with our premium Core Plays. With that being said, let’s hop into the plays…

Building Blocks

Karl Anthony Towns

Rudy Gobert has entered the health protocols which gives KAT a big bump up tonight against the Rockets. Houston has one of the worst defenses in the league and it will most likley be Sengun who is tasked to guard Towns. The usage rate should get bumped up to 32-35% which is elite for a guy priced under 9k on Draftkings (9.3K on Fanduel). Both are great in all reality for a guy who is around 1.4 fantay points per minute. Expect him to get more involved with rebounding and being in the paint. Will be a must in cash and a great option in tournaments!

Kevin Durant

Here we go back to the well again! Yes, Durant is on a back to back but so are the Hornets. Just like I talked about above with Towns, Charlotte is atrocious on defense and are an great spot to attack. Without Simmons or Irving again, Kevin should be the focal point of offense and should have his way with them. Personally not even worried about a blowout and the spread is only five. Lock him into your lineups in all contests besides your deep GPPS where you can get different. I expect him to put on another show here again.

Value Plays

Naz Reid

Gobert being out also results in Naz likely getting extended run. I doubt they decide to go double bigs as Houston doesn’t have enough size to really force it. Naz is near minimum price across all sites and projecting for around 20-25 FP’s. It is just an easy play to get in and I dont mind using him and Towns together as they should rarely be on the court at the same time. If for some reason this game gets to blowout range, Reid should pick up those extra minutes. Actually as of late afternoon, he is only projecting for 10% ownership which is kind of crazy when you think about the value.

Isaiah Hartenstein

Mitchell Robinson has been ruled out tonight which should scott Hartenstein into the starting lineup. Al Horford was also ruled out so Boston really doesn’t have a true center to start. I expect them to feed Isaiah here as he has been playing extremely well for a very discounted price.  His price is just too cheap across sites for a guy who has 35-40 FP upside. Expect him to be popular for good reason in a very ideal matchup.

The great thing about OwnersBox is the super-flex format and it allows for some really unique builds without having to force certain positions into your lineups.

Blake Griffin

Honestly not sure how much he is going to play but I am going to guess around 20-25 minutes. There is a big gap to fill in the center role with no Williams or Horford tonight. Vanleh should get some run but I expect the veteran to step up here. Blake is stone minimum price here and projected for 30 FP. Using him allows you to spend up elsewhere and build a more stars and scrubs lineup which seems to be a solid lineup build for the new platform!
