NBA DFS 12/4/19 – Ben’s Building Blocks

My Core

Donovan Mitchell- Mitchell is going to be no secret tonight with Mike Conley out for Utah, and is going to be the very first player I lock into my main builds on both sites. He averages around 1.1 fantasy points per minute with a 30% usage rate with Conley ON the floor, so it’s hard to imagine those numbers rising much even with him out tonight. That being said, Conley does lead the team in touches at 67.5 touches per game so zapping those is going to put the ball into Mitchell’s hands more and allow him to run the offense. He’s under-priced for what we expect his role to be without Conley and is one of the best plays on tonight’s slate.

Luka Doncic + Kristaps Porzingis- I’m most likely going right back to this stack tonight, after I wrote them up as a pair on Tuesday as well. This is the top game of the night against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a 230 O/U in Vegas, and I don’t think we need to worry about the back-to-back as neither of them were needed for big minutes yesterday — Porzingis played just 17 minutes. There is a slight chance that he rests, as he has done for every B2B this season, in which I would replace him with Dwight Powell and Maxi Kleber. However, I think he will play due to the small workload last night and if anything, hopefully it keeps the ownership down.

Jimmy Butler (DK)- Butler played 41 minutes last night against the Toronto Raptor and posted a triple double with a huge 60+ DK point score. It’s not a stretch to think he plays less minutes tonight, but even then he is a strong value at his price tag. He’s averaging almost 1.25 FPPM this season, and even if he only gets to around 34 minutes tonight he should be able to beat value priced at just $7,300. He leads the Heat in usage at 25% and is playable in all formats on DraftKings tonight.

Value Plays

Kris Dunn- Dunn is one of the top value plays on the slate for me as he has recently moved into the starting lineup and played 29 and 30 minutes over his last two games. This is a big pace up spot for the Bulls, who rank 11th, compared the Grizzlies who come in at 6th overall. I also love this as a game stack in tournaments, but Dunn is playable in all formats for me as a 0.9 fantasy point per minute player, not priced for his current role.

Emmanuel Mudiay- I’m torn on Mudiay tonight, and what I will ultimately end up doing I think is playing him in cash games, but fading him in tournaments. Mike Conley is out for the Jazz tonight leaving Mudiay as the only true point on the roster, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t guys that can handle the ball such as Donovan Mitchell, Bojan Bogdanovic and Joe Ingles. He played just five minutes even though Conley exited early on in the Jazz last game, but it’s tough to avoid him at his price in cash games if there is any hope he gets 20+ minutes of action tonight.

Cam Reddish (DK)- The Hawks are once again really thin on the wing with Kevin Huerter on his minutes limit, and both DeAndre Hunter and Allen Crabbe out. This should allow DeAndre Bembry and Cam Reddish to pick up extra minutes tonight, and both are projected for 28 or more minutes. Both have sub-20% usage rates and are not high-upside fantasy players, but Reddish in particular is just $300 above the minimum price on DK. At his price, you only need around 18 fantasy points or so to feel good about his performance, a number he has cleared every time he has seen over 26 minutes this season. [/restrict]
