NBA DFS 2/3/23 | Injuries to Monitor

NBA DFS is widely popular among DFS players, but also one of the most time consuming to research. Players rest and sit-out daily, and this makes accurate minutes projections some of the most valuable information when building lineups. DFS Karma does the work for you in our Projections Portal — with minutes, fantasy points, value and more rates projected out nightly in an easy to read table. You can gain access to the projections by signing up for an NBA premium subscription here. This article will aim to identify some of the important injury situations to monitor throughout the day, and give you an idea of where to go if/when news breaks. Let’s get into Thursday…

Players Listed As Questionable

Happy Friday family! We have a nice 8 game NBA DFS slate to lead us into the weekend, and only two teams on a back-to-back! Some big names — such as De’Aaron Fox — have already been ruled out but there a few key spots to watch. I’ll highlight the big names to watch and I’ll be around to answer any questions throughout the day in Discord. You can join the Discord for free here.

Joel Embiid

This is the big one today. Embiid is listed as questionable to play tonight, but we have a major narrative at play here in a fantastic match-up against the San Antonio Spurs. Embiid spoke out publicly against the NBA after the All-Star rosters were announced last night. Embiid is top-three in the current MVP ladder yet isn’t a starter — while his teammate James Harden isn’t even an All-Star. If Embiid suits up, we could see him absolutely take over so this will be a big spot to watch. If he’s out — James Harden becomes a top play while Montrezl Harell would be a great value option on both sites.

Rudy Gobert

Gobert surprisingly missed last game, which led to a Naz Reid 50 burger against the Golden State Warriors. If he’s out tonight, Naz Reid will once again be arguably the top play on the slate and he will be a must for me in all formats. Anthony Edwards also sees a larger ceiling projection with Gobert off the court.

Tre Jones

This isn’t a huge name, but does have a decent impact on the slate. If Jones is ruled out, Josh Richardson would likely step in and run point guard making him one of the best value plays on Friday night. Keldon Johnson would also see a higher ceiling projection — it helps Jakob Poeltl slightly as well, but he draws a tough match-up against Embiid assuming he is active.

Jerami Grant

Drew Eubanks is already a great play with Jusuf Nurkic out, but this would boost him even further up the board. It would also increase the projection on Josh Hart, making him a top mid-tier option.

Jabari Smith

Tari Eason will step into the starting lineup if he’s ruled out and he will become a top value play on both DraftKings and FanDuel.
