I’m Backkkkkk! Vegas was as crazy as ever. In the five times I’ve been there I have yet to come home a winner and this time was no different. I couldn’t get a college basketball game right and the Vegas Sports books don’t offer as many prop bets as the Virginia Sports books do which I found strange and bad for my bankroll. It was a great trip though and we had some epic meals at the Venetian and Fremont St. I did have some major flight issues so my main advice, NEVER EVER FLY SPIRIT!!! I feel like I haven’t played DFS in a month but it’s really only been a week. I have a lot to catch up on but I’m feeling refreshed so hopefully my mind is right for a big take down. Let’s dig into this 5 game slate.

INJURIES

  • Lebron James – D
  • Anthony Davis – D
  • Paul George – Q
  • Rudy Gobert – Q
  • Bojan Bogdanovic – Q
  • Daniel House – Q
  • Zach Lavine – Q
  • Alex Caruso – P

There’s some important news we’re waiting on and with it being March NBA I’m sure some more players will get ruled out as the day goes on. From now to the end of the year we will really have to be by our computers and ready to adjust for potential news that drops after lock.

GUARDS

At Guard we need to prioritize Luca Doncic on this slate. He gets a great match-up with the Lakers and he really is doing it all for Dallas of late. His last two games Luca put up 53 and 54 fantasy points and that seems more like the floor in this match-up with the Lakers. He is priced up at $11,400 but it’s March NBA, value will open up that should help us fit Luca into lineups. I also have a value option at Guard in Tomas Satoransky that I like targeting for both cash games and GPPs tonight (Note: he has both Forward and Guard eligibility on DK). Satoransky has always been one of my favorite players over the last few years, so I was happy that the Wiz traded to get him back in DC. Sato is now starting for the Wiz and playing around 30 minutes a night. He’s been close to a .8 fantasy point per minute producer this year, so he looks like a solid value for a $4,100 price tag. He also fills up a stat sheet which helps solidify his floor for cash games. I’ll be going in heavy on Mr. Satoransky tonight.

FORWARDS

This may be more of a GPP play, but I love me some Kristaps Porzingis tonight. He’s now playing over 30 minutes a night and if we look at his time in DC with Kuzma off the floor, he has a fantasy point per minute rate of 1.5 with 33% usage. Those are elite numbers and above the fantasy point per minute rates of Durant and Kyrie (for comparison purposes). At an $8,500 price tag, Porzingis should smash if the game stays close. Surprisingly, Vegas has this listed as a 4 point spread, which makes me think the Wiz play Chicago tough at home tonight. I’ll be on the Unicorn tonight and hopefully the ownership stays in check. Wenyen Gabriel is grading out as the best value play on the slate but I have some doubts. For cash games he’s probably a lock and load play but I have major concerns in GPPs. He’s a decent fantasy point producer but I’m concerned he could see under 25 minutes as there’s no certainty that he closes for LA. He’s no longer free on DK as his price has climbed to $4,000, so we actually do need some production out of him. Also, Dallas plays small so the minutes for the Lakers Bigs are hard to predict. I’m not totally sure what I’ll do with Gabriel tonight but I see some merit to fading him (a direct pivot could be Dwight Howard or Carmelo Anthony). Obviously, if you can afford Giannis in your line-up he’s a great play but he does have a tough match-up with Philly and I like Luka slightly more at a lower price tag and better match-up.

CENTER

I have an ugly play at Center but at this time in the day he looks like a decent value option. Brook Lopez is priced at $4,200 and I expect him to get big minutes tonight in a match-up with Embiid. BROLO has started the last few games and the minutes are trending up. If he can stay out of foul trouble I can see him getting close to 30 minutes tonight. On the season he’s been close to a fantasy point per minute producer and he’s fared OK over the years in match-ups with Embiid at a .93 fantasy point per minute rate over the last two seasons against the Sixers. It looks like he’s projected for under 5% ownership so I’ll be getting well overweight in GPPs this evening as a decent source of salary relief with some upside. As always we have a lot of great spend-ups at Center as well. My favorites are going to be Rudy Gobert (if he plays) and Nikola Vucevic. The Rudy Gobert play is based on a discounted $7,300 price tag and the Jazz really have no back-up Center tonight with Whiteside and Azubuike out. I expect Gobert to be chalky, but he does look like a great cash game play at Center. If we want to spend up a bit more I like Nikola Vucevic in a match-up with the Wiz. Vucevic is priced at $8,000 and is a solid bet to put up 40 fantasy points against a weak Washington front court. Over the last month, Vucevic has been at 1.16 fantasy points per minute (which is actually the highest rate on the team over that time period). Chicago has played the Wiz twice this year and Vucevic has rates of 1.35 fantasy points per minute in close to a 70 minute sample. I like the price, I like the match-up and I like the low ownership so sign me up for some Vucevic in GPPs.

This looks like a fun little 5 game slate to dive back in and get my feet wet in these NBA DFS streets. I plan on playing heavy to close out this NBA season so let’s all crush this last month of NBA together.

Cash Plays: Tomas Satoransky, Luca Doncic, Wenyen Gabriel, Rudy Gobert (if active)

GPP Plays: Kristaps Porzingis, Brook Lopez, Nikola Vucevic, Andre Drummond

Good luck tonight!
