NBA DFS – Bales’ Top GPP Plays (12/28/20)

Welcome to another edition of Bales’ Top GPP plays. In this article, I will outline my favorite NBA GPP plays for today’s games. If you want all of my core plays along with our staff’s Final Thoughts articles and access to our Discord, click here

Guards

Delon Wright

Wright quietly found success in limited minutes for the Dallas Mavericks last season. He averaged 6.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.2 steals in only 21.5 minutes per game. Wright was traded to the Detroit Pistons in the offseason, averaging 25.3 fantasy points in 30.4 minutes per game over his last 2 contests. He’s coming off of a 35 fantasy point performance in 42 minutes against the Cleveland Cavaliers, as well.

Wright gets a great matchup against the Atlanta Hawks, who ranked fifth in the NBA in pace and 28th in defensive efficiency last season. He doesn’t boast an elite usage rating, although he possesses plenty of upside with his versatility. Wright’s expected to find roughly 30 minutes tonight, and he could see increased usage with Blake Griffin and Derrick ruled out for rest. Wright has the potential to run the offense more tonight, adding to his ceiling. Detroit has a number of options that will garner plenty of ownership on this slate. I’m expecting Wright’s to increase as the day progresses. With that being said, he’s a player I’m going to be overweight on tonight.

Bigs

Bojan Bogdanovic

Bogdanovic looked outstanding in his first season with the Utah Jazz, averaging 20.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 33.1 minutes per game. He’s struggled through 2 games this season, averaging 23.9 fantasy points in 33.4 minutes per game. With that being said, Bogdanovic is shooting only 26.7% from the field and 31.3% from beyond the arc, suggesting he comes with significantly more scoring potential than he’s flashed thus far.

He gets a great matchup against a rebuilding Oklahoma City Thunder team tonight. They pushed the pace in their first game and will likely continue that with defensive struggles throughout the season. Bogdanovic is expected to continue to find minutes in the low- to mid-30s while being one of the primary offensive options for the Utah Jazz. He’s a player that relies heavily on scoring, making him a boom or bust option on most slates. His early-season scoring struggles will likely keep his ownership down, although this is a great matchup for him to break out of this slump. He’s far too cheap for his upside, and Bogdanovic is a top GPP option on this slate.
