NBA DFS – Spikes GPP Plays (10/24)

Five slates down and dozens more to go! Tonight’s slate is a small five gamer but there are definitely ways to get weird and different. There are two games I really like in particular for this evening, one of them being Golden State vs Sacramento and the other game I find intriguing is Houston vs Boston. I think you can stack both of these games, especially the first, as it has the highest implied game total on the slate.

Point guard

Your obvious play here is Stephen Curry and rightfully so. He’s averaging 33 points and nearly 62 fantasy points a game. I really like Jalen Suggs. His price tag is a bit cheap for his upside, and he is likely to go overlooked on this slate with all the studs above him. Suggs is 1-12 from outside the arc and 7 for 31 all around. Eventually, his shots will fall and I want to have exposure when that happens.

Shooting Guard

For SG, I think Buddy Hield is a great GPP option tonight. He’s averaging 20.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game thus far, and I expect his peripheral stats to pick up sooner rather than later. With other options like Jaylen Brown (questionable) and Jordan Poole, I don’t see Hield getting a whole lot of ownership. That could be great leverage in what seems to be a fast-paced, high-scoring game. You can also use Jalen Suggs here, as well.

Small Forward

I think a fair amount of ownership will be spread out between Lebron James, Jayson Tatum, and possibly even Harrison Barnes (yes even at that price tag) to open up some leverage plays. R.J. Barrett has a pretty good matchup against the Orlando Magic, and it’s only a matter of time before he has a ceiling game. So far on the season, he is 3-12 from beyond the arc, and eventually, his shots are going to fall. The upside is massive for a price tag of 5800 and potentially low ownership. Franz Wagner is another player I think has a great matchup, but I don’t think it’s a huge secret either. Still, consider him in GPP’s.

Power Forward

Julius Randle is an absolute monster early this year, stuffing the stat sheets with averages of 28 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, and even 1.5 blocks per game. Even if he comes in a little chalky, this is a play I’m going to be on regardless. These teams just played each other on Friday, and the Knicks blew them out. Randle had an amazing performance, and I expect the same thing tonight. His price ($8700) on DK is far too cheap for his kind of performances. I also really like Obi Toppin but only if we get confirmation that Taj Gibson is out. Other GPP plays I like are Jaren Jackson Jr and Jae’Sean Tate.

Center

At center, I am really liking Mo Bamba, as he possesses massive upside and $6200 on DK is a little cheap for him. Averaging 16.5 points and 3 blocks per game is a great start, and I anticipate his peripheral stats to continue to grow. If this game does turn into a blowout, he can still get good run into it and be a viable option for tournaments. You can also use Julius Randle here with his position eligibility on DK. Other GPP plays I’m interested in are Alperen Sengun and Richaun Holmes.
