NBA Jock MKT Play (2/9)

Jock MKT is one of the most interesting forms of DFS. In this article, I’ll break down what Jock MKT is and my favorite NBA buy for tonight’s slate.

What Is Jock MKT?

The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for this week.

2/9 Buy

Zach LaVine, SG, Chicago Bulls

Highest Potential Bid: $12.00

Break-Even Point: 8

If you’re new to Jock MKT, you may be struggling to read what’s listed below the LaVine recommendation. Essentially, I’m willing to spend up to $12 per share for LaVine. He needs to finish eighth in the field for me to make my money back with the opportunity for me to make more if he finishes higher.

For example, if I buy 1 share of LaVine at $12 and he finishes eighth in this field, I make my $12 back. If he finishes 1st, I win $25 (profit $13). If he finishes last, I win $1 (lose $11). It’s that simple.

LaVine’s found plenty of success for the Chicago Bulls this season. He’s averaging 24.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 34.2 minutes per game. LaVine’s seen mixed results in recent games. With that being said, he’s coming off of an outstanding 51.5 fantasy point performance against the Phoenix Suns.

LaVine will be locked into a massive role for Chicago. They’ll be without Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, and Ayo Dosunmu. LaVine will see plenty of minutes, and he’ll continue his elite scoring role. He’ll also need to work as more of a facilitator, and he’s already recorded 15 assists over his last two games. Most importantly, LaVine gets an elite matchup against the Charlotte Hornets.

The Hornets have struggled against shooting guards throughout the season. They’re allowing the third-most points and sixth-most assists per game to shooting guards. Charlotte’s also giving up the third-most steals per game to the position. Overall, this is an elite matchup for LaVine.

He’s ranked ninth in Jock MKT’s pre-rank for tonight’s slate. He’s projected for 41.58 fantasy points as well. I’m getting aggressive with LaVine’s price tag because I love this situation. This is by far the best game on this slate, which is relatively small. LaVine has the ability to completely take over this game, and he should see a massive role in this game.
