NBA Jock MKT Play (3/25/22)

Jock MKT is fun new way to play DFS. In this article, I’ll break down what Jock MKT is and my favorite NBA buy for tonight’s slate.

What Is Jock MKT?

The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for the night.

3/25/22 Top Buy

Jordan Poole, PG, Golden State Warriors

Highest Potential Bid: $11.00

Break-Even Point: 10th

If you’re new to Jock MKT, you may be struggling to read what’s listed below the Poole recommendation. Essentially, I’m willing to spend up to $11.00 per share for him. He needs to finish 10th in the field for me to make my money back with the opportunity for me to make more if he finishes higher.

For example, if I buy 1 share of Poole at $11.00 and he finishes 10th in this field, I make my $11.00 back. If he finishes 1st, I win $25 (profit $14.00). If he finishes last, I win $1 (lose $10.00). It’s that simple.

Poole is more expensive than I typically like to target in these articles, but we simply cannot ignore his current role on this team. Steph Curry remains out for the Golden State Warriors, which has resulted in full-on alpha Jordan Poole. Over his last five games, he’s sporting a 27% usage rate which is up 3% from his season average of 24%. Over that five game span, he is fifth in the entire NBA with 430 touches behind only Darius Garland, Nikola Jokic, Lamelo Ball and Dejounte Murray. Furthermore, those touches come with 19 shot attempts per game — up from his season-average of 13 per game. He’s clearly taken over this offense, which results in higher projection and ceiling. He is going to absolutely crush in fantasy the night his shot is falling at a high clip, and I’m on him tonight against the Hawks.

Poole is ranked 11th in Jock MKT’s pre-ranking for tonight, which may seem like a high ranking. That being said, as I highlighted above, it’s actually right on par with his current role in this offense. He is one of my best bets for fantasy tonight, and we could see a major performance if his shot is dropping early.
