Penn State Vs Minnesota -4

After Minnesota suffered an embarrassing loss at a 4 win Illinois team last Wednesday, they find them selves in almost must-win situation today against Penn State. Big Ten basketball is grind all season with about 10 teams that have a real chance of making the NCAA Tournament. So even a bad road loss can be overcame with future victories. Penn State will travel to Minneapolis to take on the Gophers tonight. Penn State has lost their last 5 games and is 0-7 to open conference play. A weakness of has been that Penn State is averaged 13.4 turnovers per game in the last 5 games, which has also been one of Minnesota’s strengths as they have forced 12.8 in the last 5. The home team is 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings. Penn State is 2-6 as a underdog this year and 5-12-1 ATS this year. They are losing by an average of 7.4 points on the road this year. Minnesota is winning by an average of 11.6 points at home this season. Play: Minnesota -4

Virginia Vs Duke -4

Two Top 5 rated teams meet at Cameron Indoor Stadium tonight, as 16-0 #4 ranked Virginia comes to play 14-2 #1 ranked Duke. Coach K is 9-3 vs Coach Bennett, but Bennett owns the ATS record at 8-4. Virginia has won its last 7 contests by at least 13 points, and have shot better than 50% from the floor in 3 of past 5 games. They have held their past 9 opponents under 50% and have out rebounded 8 of last 9. Virginia is 13-3 ATS this year including 4-0 on the road. Duke will be coming into tonight’s game looking to rebound from there stunning overtime loss to Syracuse Monday night as a double digit favorite. Duke struggled after losing guard Tre Jones to a shoulder injury. Duke will be without Tre Jones tonight as well.
