Spike’s GPP Plays (11/14/21)

What a wonderful Sunday for some basketball! I got out of work early, and I’m spending some time with my wife and son. Tonight is a nice five-game slate and is filled with chalky plays but also some great tournament plays.  One of my favorite games is the Warriors vs Hornets. It should be high-scoring and is a great game to stack.  Anyway, here are some of my favorite GPP plays for tonight.

Point Guard

Cameron Payne is coming off of a couple of solid games. He is still underpriced and with Anfernee Simons being the clear chalk tonight, he should go overlooked.  Averaging 18 FP per game at a $3500 DK price tag makes a lot of sense to use. He’s a little dependent on scoring but his peripherals can pick up with game flow.  Also, if this game gets into blowout territory, he should still get solid run. Other players to consider are Jordan Poole, Lamelo Ball, and Stephen Curry.

Shooting Guard

Andrew Wiggins is a great option tonight. Although he has burned me a couple of times this year, he is coming off of a couple of great games (43.5 and 32.3 FP). He gets another great matchup against the Hornets tonight.  He is another play who is reliant on scoring but has double-digit points in every game this year.  He should play around 30 minutes tonight and has the upside I want in my lineup.  Other players to consider are Zach Lavine, Will Barton, and Terance Mann.

Small Forward

Nassir Little is a player I’m highly interested in tonight. With no Damian Lillard, I believe everyone will go to Anfernee Simons.  I don’t think that’s a bad play at all but instead, pivot here for some lower ownership in this game.  Little is coming off a huge ceiling game against Houston, and I think he should see extra minutes tonight. He can add peripherals, as well, which just helps his upside even more.  Other players I’m focusing on are Mikal Bridges, Miles Bridges, and Paul George.

Power Forward

I don’t think Alize Johnson is a huge secret tonight.  I still plan on having plenty of exposure to him. With no Nikola Vucevic again tonight, he should be in line for plenty of extra minutes. This is a bold call, but I believe he has the upside to double-double tonight given the ability he has flashed in Brooklyn. With a salary of $3300, he can easily pay off his price tag and the upside is there for much more. Other players to consider are Demar Derozan, Nicolas Batum, and Kevin Durant.

Center

Nikola Jokic is getting up there in price, but he is well worth it with his performance lately.  Averaging nearly 58 FP per game is a tremendous feat.  I don’t think anyone on Portland can stop him. He makes for an elite play, and this offense clearly runs through him. I do worry about this game being a blowout, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take. Other players I am interested in are Ivica Zubac and Frank Kaminsky (if Ayton is ruled out).

I hope we all have great nights and everyone lands in the green! Good luck!
