Thoughts:

Updates to come to this section as we approach lock so continue to check back for more insight.

  • Today we got a nice mid sized slate, something we’ve seen almost every day this week. Some key injury news we had that came out earlier in the day was Horford OUT, Conley OUT, Simmons, PG, and Beverley Probable. Jayson Tatum has been ruled in, and will be on a minutes limit. Other than that, that is all the news we have today! Should be a pretty mellow slate unless something crazy happens. Let’s get right into it.
  • If we are starting roster construction on both sites, I would start with Bradley Beal. He will be my spend up stud of the night, as he faces a CHA team who is not great but not bad vs guards. Beal has been handling all the usage since he’s returned from his injury, and now he’s around 9k on both sites. I love that he’s at home because the Wizards play much better at home. A value play I like to pair Beal with who is also a Washington Wizard is Thomas Bryant. TB finally got unleashed and played 31 minutes on route to a double double with 18/10/6. I like this matchup for him with CHA being very soft vs Centers.
  • The second player I’ll be building around is Bogdan Bogdanovic. Severely underpriced on both sites, and found his groove last night. I don’t love going back to players on a b2b but he’s sub 5k on both sites and I like this spot for him. The travel wasn’t far (from SAC–> LA). Another value play I like especially on DraftKings is Ish Smith. Ish has been playing a bit more with Jordan McRae out and tonight gets CHA. I love the Wizards tonight for DFS purposes. Another Wizard I’ll probably have is Troy Brown who is 5.1k on FanDuel… and 5.6k on DraftKings.
  • Some studs I like to pay up for tonight come from the PHI/ATL game. I like Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid with Al Horford out, and the matchup against Trae and the Hawks is amazing. I would rank them Ben>Trae>Embiid, we don’t know how much Joel will play but I like the upside in what should be a rather low owned Embiid.
  • I want to point out the price differential on both sites tonight- coming mainly from the Toronto Raptors. Fanduel has Ibaka at 5.6k where DraftKings has him for 7.1k. I like him more on FanDuel than DraftKings due to that price, and would rather just pay up more for Pascal there.
  • Now, for tournaments, this is where I believe we can get a little more “different”. I would use the other plays listed below to differentiate yourself from the field.
  • Below are the players I would consider in your “pool” tonight when building 3-20 lineups.  This is 100% the approach everyone reading this article should be taking tonight.  There are plenty of 3-max, 5-max, 20-max contests to enter
  • The players I’m using in my “pool” tonight (outside of locking Beal, Thomas Bryant, Bogdanovic, one of my studs from the PHI/ATL game)
      • Terry Rozier
      • Pascal Siakam
      • Serge Ibaka (FD priority)
      • Tobias Harris
      • Wizards (as stated in article, Troy Brown, Ish Smith, Bertans)
      • De’Aaron Fox
      • Kemba Walker
      • Jaylen Brown/Gordon Hayward
      • Kyle Lowry
      • Daniel Theis
      • Donavan Mitchell
      • Jordan Clarkson
      • Joe Ingles
      • P.J. Washington
      • Cody Zeller
    • We’re still waiting on a few pieces of information, so keep your eyes peeled.
    • Remember to try to add as much correlation to your lineups as possible.  More games go to OT than you think in the NBA and mini-game stacks are an underutilized strategy in NBA DFS tournaments.  (Again, you can use the table above to identify the game-stacks I’ll be on).
    • My top game stack of the night will be CHA/WAS. I like Beal, Troy Brown, Ish Smith, Bertans, Thomas Bryant from Wiz, and Rozier, Graham, Washington from CHA.
