Updates to come to this section as we approach lock so continue to check back for more insight.

  • Hello all and welcome back for another DFS Karma Game Theory! Now there is a lot of injury news but that is covered over at https://dfskarma.com/basketball/nba-injury-news-and-impact. There are 6 games today which means there will be less variance. The less games there are, the less spread out the owner percentages are for each player. Let’s dive right in.
  • This slate is tough- I don’t have any firm “locks” yet but I will likely be exposed the most to Tyler Herro, who will benefit from Jimmy Butler being out once again. This is a tricky situation- they are on a second end of a back to back vs the same team who just blew them out by nearly 50 points. You should avoid this game in cash games, but if there was ever a spot to “bounce back” this would be the spot for the Heat. The spread is only 6.5 which is odd to me. This is a great game for tournaments as people will likely be scared seeing the outcome of last night. I would attack Jrue Holiday on FanDuel who is pretty cheap and probably the best mid-tier point guard on the slate. Another guy I love for cash games on FanDuel is Devonte’ Graham. Graham comes into the matchup vs Dallas will poor shooting stats so far. However, his assist numbers have been great and he’s had a double double in 2 out of his 3 games. He’s underpriced in a nice matchup. I’m not going to be “locking him” but I’ll have a good amount of exposure here. To be 100% transparent I don’t think I’ll have 100% of any player tonight across my tournaments.
  • Since there are just 6 games on today’s slate, you want to go ahead and decide which chalk you want to eat, because unlike larger slates there might not be an appropriate pivot. I expect people to pay up for PG today, in terms of Luka Doncic, Trae Young, Kyrie Irving, and Damian Lillard. I’m pretty much fine with any of these guys and I think that a 3.5k punt in Payton Pritchard could garner some attention with his consistent minutes as of late. I really like LeVert especially if he gets the start without Dinwiddie, I like Joe Harris, as well as he should get some more looks without Dinwiddie on the floor, and I love PJ Washington who has played really well with Cody Zeller out of the lineup. His price is getting there but his production has been great.
  • I think the Center position is where you make or break your lineup today. I love Jonas Valanciunas who will get a usage bump without Morant on the floor, I like Nurkic who is cheap but has seen his time cut with Kanter (great GPP play) performing well off the bench. I also like Jarrett Allen and Bismack Biyombo if you’re looking for some more cash safe centers.
  • *Watch out for news on Kawhi Leonard. If he is ruled out today, Paul George will be the focal point of tonight’s offense vs the Portland Trailblazers and should see some great usage. Other good plays include Luke Kennard  and Lou Williams.
  • For cash games, my core 3 will be Tyler Herro, PJ Washington, Devonte Graham.
  • For tournaments, I like the build of Joe Harris, Jonas Valanciunas, and Payton Pritchard.
  • Now, I will go over my full player pool for today, below.
