Thoughts:

Updates to come to this section as we approach lock so continue to check back for more insight.

  • Welcome back to the NBA! We’re back here with an amazing slate that features a ton of new faces, mainly on the Washington Wizards and Brooklyn Nets. Washington has picked up some reinforcements such as Jerian Grant, while having a timeshare between Napier and Smith. They are still short handed at forward without Bertans which makes Troy Brown a lock for me today. For Brooklyn they have two new point guards in Tyler Johnson and Chris Chiozza, along with Jamal Crawford who will likely not suit up today. This makes Caris Levert an elite play due to the usage he will be receiving.
  • If we are starting roster construction on both sites, I would start with the Giannis. No Bledsoe frees up a good amount of usage and Giannis has been killing it in the scrimmages. The Bucks team has potential to be a team stack with Donte Divencenzo, Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez all in plus spots with usage. However, the matchup vs Boston may lower ownership a bit.
  • Another play I will be putting into every one of my cash lineups is Jakob Poeltl. No Lyles, no Aldridge. He gets a cake matchup vs SAC and is extremely underpriced for his upside and floor when starting.
  • The other place I’ll be looking to when building lineups today are the Phoenix Suns. I can definitely see this being a great GPP game stack, PHX could come in pretty low owned but with no Oubre, I love Rubio, Booker and Ayton. Bridges is in contention for GPPS but don’t like him more than Brown.
  • HOU/DAL should be an interesting game in which I don’t know how to gauge it fantasy wise- these studs are in plus matchups but will they hit value? That’s what I need to figure out at the moment, for now I like Luka but I feel like his upside is slightly limited when Porzingis plays.
  • Below are the players I would consider in your “pool” tonight when building 3-20 lineups.  This is 100% the approach everyone reading this article should be taking tonight.  There are plenty of 3-max, 5-max, 20-max contests to enter
  • The players I’m using in my “pool” tonight (outside of locking Brown/Levert/Giannis/Poeltl)
      • Devin Booker
      • Luka Doncic
      • Middleton
      • DiVencenzo
      • Ricky Rubio
      • Derrick White
      • Lonnie Walker
      • James Harden
      • Brook Lopez
      • Jarrett Allen
      • Ish Smith
      • Chris Chiozza
      • Rui Hachimura
      • Deandre Ayton
      • Nikola Vucevic
      • Kristaps Porzingis
    • We’re still waiting on a few pieces of information, so keep your eyes peeled.
    • Remember to try to add as much correlation to your lineups as possible.  More games go to OT than you think in the NBA and mini-game stacks are an underutilized strategy in NBA DFS tournaments.  (Again, you can use the table above to identify the game-stacks I’ll be on).
    • My top game stack of the night will be PHX/WAS.
