WNBA DFS PLAYS 7-25-20

The wait is finally over and we have real SPORTS BACK! Today we have a great 3 game slate for the WNBA in what is going to be a condensed season of only 22 games. There were alot of off season moves that happened and if you need to get up to speed and go over all the news then check out Joey’s WNBA season preview here.  Now that everyone is up to speed lets take a look at some of my favorite value plays at the two positions for both Fanduel and DraftKings.

Guards:

Julie Allemand – DK 5200

As always I try to stay away from the known players who everyone should flock to and look for some value that helps us get the studs into our line ups. Julie Allemand is no prodigy child like other rookies drafted in this recent draft class but she is a reliable guard who already has some experience playing overseas and is looking to start her WNBA career with the Fever. She was drafted in 2016 but did not join the team then but instead headed overseas to work on her craft. This past season while playing in the Euroleague in 14 games as the PG she averaged 10PTS, and 5AST a game with a 41% and 51% from deep. She has a great touch from beyond the arc and the vision and play making to get others involved. With a team full of young players and no Erica Wheeler this season she will be needed to fill a lot of the guard minutes the Fever have to offer. At 5400 on DraftKings she makes for a great play at Guard allowing you to pay up for some big names at forward.

Ariel Atkins – FD 4700

Have you seen the WNBA Champions roster from last year? They are missing A LOT of pieces they had from that championship run with a few people leaving in the off season and some sitting out the bubble due to medical concerns. The only player left from the starting lineup that will be back is Ariel Atkins a 3 and D specialist. Fanduel definitely fell asleep when they made their pricing because she is priced as if she is playing with her full starting roster. One thing we like to do early on in WNBA is go with the known and stay away from the Unknown. I can see Atkins being a key player tomorrow who should have to step up along with Meesseman to keep this Mystics team a float.

Forwards:

Teaira McCowan – DK 10500

If you remember the end of the season last year the Fever finally figured something out, and that was they had one of the best Forwards in the game that no one could stop. Opposing  coaches would even admit that they wouldn’t come up with a game plan to stop her because it was such a hard task to do. Teaira McCowan is a beast down low and on the glass and now gets a match up against a Mystic team that’s missing some key players. Oh let’s also add that she now has a NEW coach who is a player development specialist and a post player specialist who just so happenes to be one of the prior assistnet coaches for the Mystics last season. We should see some special things from her here. In one of her last games against the Mystics last year she had a double double in only 19 minutes. She should see plenty of minutes and I expect to be a big part of the game plan from the Fever. She will be one of my top forward plays tomorrow.

Kia Stokes – FD 3800

Value is something that’s a bit hard to find sometimes on Fanduel but one player who could be stepping into a starting roll that’s priced at 3800 is Kia Stokes. Stokes when given the minutes can play with the best of them and if you take a look at her game logs you will see the last time she faced the Storm she had a double double with 10 points and 15 rebounds! If Stokes starts tomorrow she makes for a great pivot off of Zahui B who should be busy with trying to stop Stewie and if Zahui gets into some foul trouble we could see Stokes step up even more as back up center.
