Los Angeles Rams vs New England Patriots -2.5
Today is the grand daddy of them all Super Bowl 53, and Tom Brady sets his eyes on ring #6, while the young hot shot coach Sean McVay is gunning for his 1st. Lets look at some stats from Tom Brady’s first 8 Super Bowl games, he is 5-3, with a completion rate of 65% and 2,576 yards, 18 touchdowns. Brady has led a game winning drive on all 5 Super Bowl wins. The Patriots have been really conservative in the 1st quarter in all 8 games, they have only scored in 1 of 8 tries, which is pretty unbelievable. Last year vs the Rams they scored 3 points for the first time ever in their history of playing in the Super Bowl. This year in the playoffs both teams have started out slow in the first half not trying to make the early mistake. The Rams scored 0 points in the first quarter vs the Saints and then 10 in the 2nd quarter. LA scored 3 points in the first quarter vs the cowboys, and 17 in the 2nd. The Patriots exploded with some huge plays vs the chargers in their 1st playoff game this year, but when they played the Chiefs in the AFC Title game they scored just 7 points in the 1st quarter and then 7 more points in the 2nd quarter. The high powered Chiefs were unable to score any points vs the New England at home even. I expect both teams to open it up more in the 2nd half and both come out conservative and feel each other out for the first few drives. Today’s play we are going with the 1st half under.
