Top Plays

Quarterbacks:

B. Armstrong (Virginia): DK 8,700  FD 11,500

This game between Virginia and Wake Forest is looking like an absolute shootout.  We just watched Virginia get into a shootout last week vs. UNC, and how good they were in terms of fantasy production.  Armstrong has been extremely good for this Virginia team early on, and looks like he is poised for a breakout year.  On the season Armstrong has thrown for 1298 yards and 11 touchdowns.  He also has two rushing touchdowns.  This is a matchup that he should be able to exploit, and on a small slate like this, he is an absolute lock for me.  Playing at home, in a primetime matchup….. Big day ahead for Mr. Armstrong.

Jake Haener (Fresno State): DK 7,900  FD 10,000

Fresno come into this matchup as 30 point favorites, and for good reason, because UNLV may have the worst defense in the entire nation.  They can’t defend the pass, and definitely cannot defend the run.  UNLV allow over 230 rush yards per game, and over 250 pass yards per game.  Haener is very good throwing the ball and is a capable runner as well.  Fresno should be able to do whatever they want in this matchup, and I fully expect to see a few Haener to Cropper bombs tonight.  Haener can be played in all formats.

Others to consider:  M. Willis (Liberty)- Willis is an absolute stud and is in consideration as a core play for me; S. Hartman (WF); C. Reynolds (Charlotte)

Running Backs:

Ronnie Rivers (Fresno State): DK 5,600  FD 10,500

Not much needs to be said about Rivers in this game.  UNLV rank nearly dead last in the NCAA in rush yards allowed per game, and Rivers is ridiculously priced on DK.  He is a lock for me on DK in all formats, and is a core play for me on FD.  Rivers comes with the safest floor and the highest ceiling of any running back on this slate.  Get him in your lineups.. don’t overthink this one.

Christian Beal-Smith (Wake Forest): DK 5,300  FD 8,800

CBS gets the second best matchup on this slate for a running back.  He gets a chance to face a Virginia defense that has allowed over 220 rush yards per game, and one that struggle defending pass catching backs in the pass game.  Beal-Smith can do it all, and will be relied upon heavily in this game.  Again this game has the highest O/U on the slate, and should be one you pull plenty of players from.  Beal-Smith, along with Rivers, will be locked into my RB slots tonight.

Others to consider: S. Tucker (SYR); T.J Green (Liberty)

Wide Receivers:

Jelani Woods (Virginia):  DK 4,000  FD 6,400

Jelani Woods is a massive 6’5″ tight end, that lines up all over the place for Virginia, constantly creating mismatches due to his size and athletic ability.  I find Woods to be extremely underpriced, and someone you should definitely be looking to get into your lineups.  Woods is coming off of a very good outing vs. UNC where he compiled 6 catches for 47 yards and a touchdown.  The week prior to that he caught 5 balls for 122 yards and a touchdown.  He is one of Armstrong’s favorite targets, and in a shootout type of environment once again this week, he should see plenty of targets and thrive in this spot once again.  Lock him in at only 4k on DK.

Others to consider:  D. Wicks (UVA); J. Cropper (Fresno); B. Kemp IV (UVA); J. Roberson (Wake); A. Perry (Wake); T. Harris (Syracuse); T. Jones (Fresno); D. Douglas (LIB)
