Joey’s Week 10 Thursday Night Football Showdown Throwdown

Welcome back DFS grinders to another edition of my NFL Showdown Throwdown article. We ave a divisional game between the Chargers and the Raiders. The Chargers are currently only a 2 point favorite, which I would pound that spread. (I probably have some bias being a chargers fan). The Chargers look to have their defense back to playing top speed after shutting down Rodgers. If Bosa and Ingram both stay healthy with their DI linemen playing well and staying healthy this will be a dangerous team when James comes back.

Stud Tier

Philip Rivers: If you are looking for a safety net for tonight, Rivers is your man. He is quietly having one of the best seasons of his 16-year career. He is leading the league in passing yards and now will face one of the worst pass defenses in the league. Coming off another 290+ passing yard game he is going up against a defense allowing 297 passing yards over their last 3 games. Normally you always have to play at least one Quarter Back in showdowns and if you are picking just one here is your guy.

Josh Jacobs: Jacobs has a chance to have a huge game against a rough running defense. The Chargers look even better in the passing game with Ingram back so the Raiders will have to rely on the run to get things going for them tonight. It isn’t likely Jacobs gets the end of the game, positive game script we love to give him those extra points at the end of the game but Jacobs should have success all game getting through one of the worst run defenses in the league.

Fade: Derek Carr: He is the highest-priced player on the FD slate and there really isn’t much reason to play him tonight. With Ingram and Bosa fully healthy and their corners playing top-notch, there is no reason to try to force Carr when there are plenty of other competent options to play. He has had an amazing last 5 games with a 9-1 TD/Int ratio 257 yards and 69% (Nice) completion% but I don’t see that continuing tonight. Thursday night leads to low scoring games as well.

Middle Tier

Darren Waller: The Raiders look to be in a negative game script in this game and their needs to e someone in the offense that benefits from that. TE is a perfect position to target with the Chargers missing both their safeties, Waller can create plenty of mismatches with back up safeties and LBs. He will be matched up with Jaylan Watkins a majority of the game according to PFF which Waller has 7 inches and 60 pounds on him. That is a huge advantage also adding on he’s faster than him. Waller has the capability to break it open this slate, I will be considering him as a low owned CPT play.

Mike Williams: So I’m sure you’ve all heard and this is nothing new but Williams is currently second in the league in targets (53) without a touchdown. (Behind Woods, 60, and tied with Kirk). Williams is how you say Big Due and in a matchup like this against a team giving up the most fantasy points to outside WRs over the last month and 3rd on the year. He should be able to explode for a potentially huge game. He was one of their main RedZone targets last year and now he is coming into this game with 10 targets and obviously zero touchdowns.

Kennan Allen: I can’t write up a showdown article tonight and not include Allen who is priced at $11.0k on FD which would make him the 8th highest salary player. This is a simple case of talent over recent production. Allen’s burst onto scene to start the year was incredible but since then he has completely slowed down. He was WR1 by over 17 points weeks 1-3 and then fell to WR46. We need to buy low on him in a smash spot and hope he pulls through. Not much has changed in this offense except that Allen just hasn’t had the same target share. He is a proven WR1 in an amazing matchup on a huge price decrease. You are either going to be kicking yourself wondering why you wouldn’t play him at that price or be like “Yeah, he’s just not the same anymore there’s a reason he’s that price.”

Cheap Tier

Zay Jones: Here is my Big Yikes play of the day. Some of y’all probably didn’t even know Zay Jones was on the Raiders. Who am I kidding you are all degenerates playing a showdown slate of course you did. Jones is slowly getting himself more acquainted with this offense after two games with the team last week he ended up with the most routes run on the team. Zay is the cheapest of the WRs and the one with the best matchup. If you want to attack the Chargers through the air there are a couple of ways to do it, but mainly it’s avoiding Casey Hayward and Desmond King who are two of the best CBs in the league especially when they have Bosa and Ingram hurrying the QB. I will be fading Williams and Renfrow for Jones tonight.

Props

Props are what I’m known for at Karma and I’ve made my most money in the Fantasy industry playing props. It’s a safer use of your money playing “cash” type props than playing 50/50s on FD/DK for single game especially. Normally I like to play some safe props than play some GPPs on FD/DK.

You have seen all the screenshots flooding twitter what are y’all waiting for. Use promo code “REPLAY” at checkout for 20% off your subscription. That’s a huge discount!

I love the 2/3 rapidfire for fantasy points tonight. Rivers (-2.5) over Carr, Jacobs +1.5 over Allen, and Waller -0.5 over Ekeler.
