Frank’s Value Vault 12/10/19

Hey Karma Nation,

We got past that interesting Monday, and can focus on the 24 teams skating on tonight’s NHL schedule.

-Insights and player picks for tonight’s 12 game slate-

  • Biggest favorites: WPG, VGK, DAL
  • Highest game totals: TB@FLA, CHI@VGK, TOR@VAN
  • Lowest game totals: STL@BUF, NYJ@DAL, CGY@ARI

Offense:

Adam Gaudette VAN ($3200-DK, $3800-FD) is playing on the 2nd power play unit and has averaged a point per game over his last five. This is a nice match up at home for Gaudette versus the Leafs’ 25th ranked defense against opposing centers.

Zach Hyman TOR ($3700-DK, $4100-FD) seems to enjoy playing with Tavares and Marner on Toronto’s second scoring line Hyman has potted three goals on 11 shots in the last two games. The Canuck’s defense is ranked 22nd against wingers, and we could easily see seven goals scored between these teams.

Jack Roslovic WPG ($3400-DK, $3700-FD) is a hunch play I like tonight. Everything lines up well for Roslovic … he is skating on home ice, Detroit ranks 27th against wingers, and you get exposure to the play-making of both Wheeler and Ehlers on the Jets’ 2nd scoring line.

Also consider: Dominik Kahun PIT ($3100-DK, $4500-FD)                                             Alex Killorn TB ($3900-DK only)

Defense:

Nate Schmidt VGK ($4000-FD only) is due for a big game, and this one has a chance to be the highest scoring of the night. I really thought Schmidt was going to produce on Sunday against the Rangers, but let’s roll the dice again facing Chicago’s mid-pack defense.

MacKenzie Weegar FLA ($3600-DK, $3700-FD) has been playing well enough to earn 2nd-unit PP time for the Panthers. Weegar has picked up two assists, five shots and 12 blocked shots in his last five games. He gets to face Tampa’s 19th ranked defense in what is essentially a home game for both teams.

Also consider: Brad Hunt MIN ($2700-DK, $3500-FD)

Goaltenders:

Juuse Saros ($7800-DK, $7300-FD) only let in one goal on 32 shots when these two teams met back on Nov. 9th in San Jose. With Pekka Rinne struggling, Saros has a great chance to earn some extra starts with a good performance tonight.

Kaapo Kahkonen MIN ($7800-DK, $7300-FD) has been stellar for the Wild in his only two starts this season, stopping 76 of the 80 shots he’s faced. Kahkonen will patrol his home crease facing an Anaheim team that only averages 2.6 goals/game.

Best of luck cashing your lineups!
