Ricky’s StableDuel Strategy – Keeneland 4/23/22

The last Saturday of the Keeneland Spring Meet is upon us. Closing day is Friday, April 29th so lets make this one count today. StableDuel has 3 contests today, but none bigger than the $10,000 LEXINGTON LOOT. Entry into this contest is $75 with payouts to the top 30 finishers and $2,000 going to the winner. If you like low stakes, there is a $1,500 contest with a $10 entry fee as well! One last contest they have is a feeder contest to their $50,000 Preakness game. For $150, the top spot gets their entry fee of $1,000 paid for. There is a limit of 2 entries per person. I won my first entry last week and I’m waiting for a good spot to jump in again. There is a really great late sequence pick 4 at Keeneland today. I’ll have a core and picks for each race in our discord! There is NO BETTER TIME than NOW to SIGN UP!

If you’re new to StableDuel, the idea is simple. Select 10 horses to build your “stable” while staying within the salary cap of $50,000. Horses are assigned prices based on their morning line odds, so you cannot use all favorites in your stable. StableDuel awards points for horses that come 1st – 5th and subtracts horses that finish outside of the top 5. This is why it is crucial to make sure you’re reading our content to narrow in on value horses that we think can get points.

High Price Favorites

#9 B Sudd $7,500 – Race 10
At $7,500, I think B Sudd is a solid play in the finale. On debut, this horse ran a huge race and grabbed 3rd place. The first and second place finishers came back to win their next races out. So naturally, B Sudd runs his second career race last October and wins at 7F. This horse took nearly 5 months off and ran last month at Oaklawn park, shortening up to 6F. He grabs another strong third. Now second off the layoff, I think B Sudd is ready to run a huge race. There’s certainly other horses that make me a bit nervous, but I’ll take the slight discount in price on a horse that should have a dream trip.

Mid Price Plays

#1 Bemma’s Boy $6,000 – Race 9
There is SO much speed in this Grade 2 stakes race that I think Bemma’s Boy should have the perfect trip. The Jockey, Umberto, is winning 32% on turf routes for Mike Maker. This is a big mile and a half race and Bemma has two wins and a second in three career starts at this distance.

Value Plays

#6 Take Charge Ro $250 – Race 7
While I don’t think Take Charge Ro is the winner of Race 7, I do think he has a strong shot at attempting to upset in this race. There is absolutely no way this horse goes off at 20/1 and for me, thats value enough to slot this horse into all of my lineups. Draw a line in his last start, which was a Grade 2 race facing incredibly stiff competition, but prior to that, this horse ran 5 starts that make him competitive today. He is also 2 for 2 at this distance, which bodes well for us.
