Today we have a nice 6 game slate that has a lot of the secondary teams playing each other which should provide some tightly contested games. Liverpool and Chelsea are the biggest favorites on the slate with Chelsea hosting Newcastle and Liverpool traveling to Brighton. Salah and Hazard will be the chalk of the slate with Salah probably bringing in the most ownership since Hazard is the late game. You could fit both but that really limits the rest of your lineup so I prefer choosing one and pivoting to a few lower owned plays. Here are my picks for the week.
Top: Hazard $11,200
I do not think you can go wrong with either Hazard or Salah $10,300 they both are amazing plays against teams that they have faced this year and scored goals against. To me it comes down to the fact that Hazard is at home and will be less owned due to the fact that he is in the late game which naturally lowers ownership.
Mid: Sadio Mane $8,500
The perfect pivot to Salah for almost 2k cheaper. The past few weeks have been the Firmino and Salah show with both now being more expensive than Mane. I love the spot here in a must win and everyone will be focused on Firmino who has scored 4 goals in his last two games. Sign me up for some Mane!.
Value: Alek Mitrovic $7,900
Mitrovic’s price almost puts him out of the value plays but the spot is just too good to be ignored. Mitro loves to shoot and is due for a big game and why not have a massive game against Burnley who he played early in the season and hit them up with a brace. I think this play is super sneaky and might be one of my favorites on the slate since it looks like the Burnley goalie will carry the most ownership from all the keepers.
Top: Maddison $8,100
Maddison is the best expensive option on the slate. In his last game he finished with 10 points including 10 crosses and would have had a massive performance if he would have converted his pk. I like a lot of the mid priced midfielders but if I have the cash to pay for Maddison I will not be upset.
Mid: Zaha $6,100
I get it the man has not scored since September 15th but he gets a really juicy matchup against Watford who have given up 6 goals in their last three games and Zaha did find the back of the net the last time these two teams played. Call me crazy but I think he scores here.
Value: Callum Paterson $4,700
My weekly advice is to attack the leaky Huddersfield defense and this week is no different. Cardiff is not very good but Paterson should get his chances to get a goal here at sub 5 percent ownership. Camarasa $7,700 is a much safer option but that safety is 3k more. I will gladly take the savings and watch Paterson reach value by just taking a few shots and if he scores even better.
Top: Ricardo Pereira $6,100
Pereira has been one of the best fantasy players for the past three weeks posting scores of 17,13 and 17. He gets a cupcake matchup against a depleted Southampton team and he should have himself a field day here.
Mid: Chris Lowe $5,200
I always pick on Huddersfield because of their defense but fantasy wise the fullbacks have been really good this year. Cardiff does not have a great defense either and Lowe will have no problem crossing away all game.
Value: Deandre Yedlin $3,500
If you are looking to punt at defense this week then good luck. Not many options to choose from but I kinda like Yedlin in this spot. He is basically a midfielder listed as a defender and really only needs a few crosses to reach value. I am sure he will want to have a big game here considering he gift wrapped chelsea a victory last time they played by scoring an own goal in the 87th minute to seal the win for the blues. I am a sucker for a revenge narrative.
Sergio Rico $4,500
To be honest I do not love any keeper on this slate. I think the safest way to go is to pay up for either the Liverpool or Chelsea keeper if you want the best odds at a clean sheet and win. I think Rico makes a nice cheap option that has the potential to get you a few saves with a chance at win points and for 4k I will take that and be able to stack the rest of my positions.
As always if you have any questions feel free to send me a message on discord or on twitter. I can’t wait to see all the screenshots after we dominate this week! Enjoy the slate and make sure to tune in to our slack when lineups come out since we usually drop a play or two in there as well.
