Lineup Optimizer Strategy Picks for MLB 5/10/22

Welcome everyone to our Lineup Optimizer strategy article for 5/10/22. This is a new article I will be doing daily that discusses the stacks and players the optimizer is popping for today’s slate. We are very blessed to have out optimizer powered by SaberSim — and you can get access by clicking HERE. Let’s get into it…

Overview

We have a massive slate on tap tonight, so I’m going to do a build for three-max entry on DraftKings. I will try and narrow down three stacks I like for my lineups.

Top Stacks

Since it’s such a big slate and I’m going for three builds here, I did not lock in my pitchers. I locked in 100% Mike Clevinger due to his price, but didn’t end up locking in a SP1. The sims returned a lot of Justin Verlander, Brad Keller and Carlos Carrasco.

100% agree with the New York Mets vs Patrick Corbin and they are a lock to be one of my three stacks. Corbin walks a lot of batters, and gives up homeruns which is the perfect recipe to stack against. He’s throwing more sinkers this season — so we want to focus on the batters that hit that pitch well including Pete Alonso, Francisco Lindor, JD Davis and Starling Marte.

The simulations love the Royals here against Martin Perez, and I think I mostly agree with the spot. Perez is a mediocre pitcher overall, and relies heavily on ground balls to get outs. All of Bobby Witt, Salvador Perez and Hunter Dozier have big-time fly-ball rates to counteract his abilities.

For our third and final stack it’s between the Marlins and the White Sox, with me slightly leaning towards Miami. Miami’s lineup has tons of right-handed power which is what we want to target vs Madison Bumgarner, and he has a bad bullpen behind him as well.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I am locking in Mike Clevinger and then mixing and matching my other SP slot while stacking the Mets, Marlins and Royals in three-max entry contests tonight.
