Bales’ Bananas – Monkey Knife Fight NBA Prop Picks 2/27/19

Over Under 2/2 – New Orleans Pelicans/Los Angeles Lakers

Rajon Rondo has seen extremely inconsistent minutes recently, which has caused him to record four or fewer assists in three of his last four games. Tonight, he’s tentatively expected to play minutes in the teens, which would make this under a near lock. Keep in mind, the Los Angeles Lakers have changed their rotation at the blink of an eye before, so it isn’t quite that easy, but with his current projected time on the court, this prop is set entirely too high. I don’t trust the New Orleans Pelicans rotation whatsoever, but Julius Randle has been one consistent. He has played 30+ minutes in three of his last four games, and he’s averaging 25.3 points per game in those contests. He also gets the revenge narrative against his former team, who he’s averaging 22.5 points per game against this season. I expect Randle to continue to get his revenge on Los Angeles, similarly to the way he did only two games ago.

Play $50 on Julius Randle OVER 20.5 points and Rajon Rondo UNDER 6.5 assists to win $124 (2.48x)

Over Under 2/2 – Washington Wizards/Brooklyn Nets

D’Angelo Russell has been playing at an extremely high level recently, as he is averaging 26.0 points on 22.3 shot attempts, 9.3 three-point attempts, and 4.5 free throw attempts over his last 12 games. Over that span, he has scored fewer than 24 points five times, but a pair of those games ended with 23 points. He gets an elite matchup against the Washington Wizards in a game that will be playing at a fast pace and feature plenty of scoring. It’s easy to believe that Russell and Bradley Beal will be showing out against each other as two of the NBA’s premier scorers. Bobby Portis isn’t as easy of a player to project. He’s averaging 10.7 rebounds on a per-36 minute basis this season, but he tends to struggle with fouls. I don’t love projecting fouls, as they can be a bit random, but Portis is expected to play around 30 minutes tonight. He gets an elite matchup against the Brooklyn Nets, who have struggled against talented bigs this season, and Portis is averaging 7.0 rebounds in only 22.3 minutes per game against them. If Portis can stay on the court, he should be able to record 9+ boards in this good of a matchup. That’s a bit if, though, which is where the risk is involved here.

Play $50 on D’Angelo Russell OVER 23.5 points and Bobby Portis OVER 8.5 rebounds to win $105.50 (2.11x)

Over Under 2/2 – Indiana Pacers/Dallas Mavericks

Bojan Bogdanovic was set at 15.5 points in his last game, and we comfortably hit the over. Now it increased one point, and we’re attack it again. He has seen an increased role in the offense recently, and he’s averaging 20.5 points per game over his last 14 games. He’s also averaging 15.2 shot attempts, 5.6 three-point attempts, and 3.6 free throw attempts per game over that span. Furthermore, Bogdanovic failed to reach 17 points in only four of those 14 games, including hitting that number in seven of his last eight. He scored only nine points in his only matchup against Dallas this season, but he shot 20% from the field, including missing all four of his three-point attempts in that game. I expect him to find significantly more success tonight. Jalen Brunson’s minutes have been extremely inconsistent, which is a bit concerning, but he has still posted four or more assists in six of his last 10 games. Furthermore, he needed only 21.5 minutes to record four assists against the Indiana Pacers earlier this season. Brunson won’t be locked into big minutes tonight, but he’s expected to play minutes in the mid-20s, which should be enough for the point guard to find four assists on the floor.

Play $50 on Bojan Bogdanovic OVER 16.5 points and Jalen Brunson OVER 3.5 assists to win $122.50 (2.45x)
