NBA DFS 1/2/23 | Injuries to Monitor

NBA DFS is widely popular among DFS players, but also one of the most time consuming to research. Players rest and sit-out daily, and this makes accurate minutes projections some of the most valuable information when building lineups. DFS Karma does the work for you in our Projections Portal — with minutes, fantasy points, value and more rates projected out nightly in an easy to read table. You can gain access to the projections by signing up for an NBA premium subscription here. This article will aim to identify some of the important injury situations to monitor throughout the day, and give you an idea of where to go if/when news breaks. Let’s get into Monday night…

Already Ruled Out

Stephen Curry + Andrew Wiggins

Curry and Wiggins remain out for the Warriors on Monday, which affects the entire lineup. Kuminga is also out due to a foot injury. Jordan Poole dominates the offense with a 37% usage rate with those three players off the court this season. Donte DiVincenzo should continue to start, while Klay Thompson and Draymond Green get boosts as well. Early OWN% projections have the Warriors players as popular across all sites on Monday night.

Anthony Davis

AD will continue to be out for the Lakers — Thomas Bryant starts in his place while LeBron dominates the offense. LeBron averages over 1.5 fantasy points per minute with Davis off the floor this season.

Darius Garland (D)

Garland is not officially out yet, but it sounds pretty clear that he won’t be playing tonight. We saw this situation on New Years eve — with Caris LeVert and Donovan Mitchell being the biggest beneficiaries. It’s early in the day, but LeVert is projected inside the top-three overall in ownership on this slate.

Clint Capela

Capela is a big one as he is once again out for the Hawks. Onyeka Okongwu will continue to start in his place, while John Collins gets a boost as well. Early OWN% projections have Okongwu inside the top-three at Center tonight.

Other players already ruled out include Brandon Ingram, Karl-Anthony Towns, Killian Hayes and more.

Questionable

Fred VanVleet

FVV has missed a few games recently and his absence would certainly affect the slate. Pascal Siakam would be more in-play as a spend-up while Gary Trent would start in his place. Both OG Anunoby and Scottie Barnes would see bumps up as well.

Joel Embiid

This is a major one with Embiid getting the Q tag mid-morning. Harden would become a must-play in all formats and we would get some strong value between Harrell and Paul Reed depending who starts.

Devin Vassell

If Vassell misses, Keldon Johnson gets a bump up and Romeo Langford would start in his place.

Jusuf Nurkic

Drew Eubanks would start in Nurk’s place if ruled out, while the other pieces in the Blazers starting lineup would get rate boosts as well. Eubanks is just $3,500 on DraftKings.

Evan Mobley

Mobley missed along with Garland the other night. This would put Kevin Love into cash game consideration as he would step into the starting lineup — while Jarrett Allen would get a nice boost as well.

Alperen Sengun

Sengun was just listed as a GTD — if he gets ruled out look for the entire Rockets lineup to get a bump up. Bruno Fernando and Usman Garuba would be in line for the Center minutes.

There are more players listed as Q to play tonight, but these are most of the bigger name ones (for now). I’ll always be in Discord to break down later injury news / any questions you have. You can get access to the Free channels by clicking here
