NBA DFS 1/28/23 | Injuries to Monitor

NBA DFS is widely popular among DFS players, but also one of the most time consuming to research. Players rest and sit-out daily, and this makes accurate minutes projections some of the most valuable information when building lineups. DFS Karma does the work for you in our Projections Portal — with minutes, fantasy points, value and more rates projected out nightly in an easy to read table. You can gain access to the projections by signing up for an NBA premium subscription here. This article will aim to identify some of the important injury situations to monitor throughout the day, and give you an idea of where to go if/when news breaks. Let’s get into Saturday…

Players Listed As Questionable

After a small five game slate on Friday, we have a massive 9 game NBA DFS slate on Saturday to get us ready for championship weekend in the NFL on Sunday. The biggest news on the slate has already dropped and that’s that Luka Doncic will be out for the Mavericks tonight. Obviously when one of the best players in fantasy is out it’s going to shake up the slate and it looks like multiple Mavs players will be the optimal build path on Saturday evening. It’s worth noting that Christian Wood is still out for the Mavs also, so things really open up here. I’ll highlight the big names to watch and I’ll be around to answer any questions throughout the day in Discord. You can join the Discord for free here.

LeBron James ($8,100)

Should LeBron miss, things change now that Anthony Davis is back in the fold so it won’t be as lock and load value as we were seeing the last three to four weeks if he was out. Davis returned off the bench in the Lakers last game, and we have him projected for around 28 minutes of action tonight which isn’t really enough minutes for me to play him at his price. Russell Westbrook ($6,500) would get a nice boost and Dennis Schroder ($5,200) would become viable in the mid-tier if James is ruled out.

Kristaps Porzingis ($6,400)

Porzingis is doubtful to play tonight, so we can pretty much assume him out. Washington has multiple strong targets — both Kyle Kuzma ($6,300) and Brad Beal ($5,900) feel too cheap for their roles with Porzingis out. Daniel Gafford ($5,000) will likely start in his place but I don’t love him at that price tag. Deni Avdija ($4,200) remains underpriced for his larger role with Rui Hachimura now traded.

Jusuf Nurkic ($5,700)

I’m not sure if we will have this news before lock, but whoever starts in his place would become a solid value option. Outside of that, all the remaining starters get bumps up especially Jerami Grant ($5,700).

OG Anunoby ($5,900)

Toronto is on the second night of a back-to-back after a tough game against the Warriors last night – so this is the spot I want to watch the most. I could see multiple other Raptors players getting ruled out so this may become a completely different situation by this afternoon. Portland is installed as five point favorites over the Raptors tonight, so don’t be shocked to see some players getting rested. With just Anunoby out — Gary Trent ($5,100) and even Scottie Barnes ($6,000) get boosts.
