NBA DFS 1/28/23 – Spike’s Building Blocks

What’s up everyone and welcome to Spike’s Building Blocks! If you’ve never read my content before, welcome. To those that have, welcome back. I truly appreciate everyone that reads and supports during NBA season. This article is designed for me to highlight the top plays of the day. Obviously, things can change rapidly in the NBA with injury news close to lock, so I would be sure to subscribe to our premium package for access to our Final Thoughts cheat sheet, our premium discord channel and my core plays. Our Core Plays product gives you the ability to tail all of our analysts in your contests each night. We do the work for you, and you simply plug and play with our premium Core Plays. With that being said, let’s hop into the plays…

Building Blocks

Spencer Dinwiddie

There is no doubt Spencer will be the highest owned player on the slate with Luka inactive tonight. Dinwiddie played excellent when Doncic left early against Phoenix. This is a heavy load to carry without Wood playing tonight either. It shapes up for Spencer to do a lot of the work and grab stats in every category at a price tag that should honestly be higher than what it is.

Pascal Siakam

Pascal is in a fantastic spot here agianst the Trailblazers. Portland gives up the most points to centers and and is top 10 in givnig up boards and assists. Projecting for sub 10% ownership makes him a solid leverage spot and late night hammer. The last time he played them which was about three weeks ago, Pascal put up 46 fantasy points while shooting awful. Going 9-11 from the free throw line shows you they can’t guard him and will foul just to try and keep up. With OG injured too there will be some usage to go around which helps his upside even more.

Note: Still waiting on some injury news that has yet to drop so stay tuned in the discord channels to get updated on it!

Value Plays

Precious Achiuwa

OG Anunoby has already been ruled out after injuring his wrist early last night. We saw Precious come in and absorb a good amount of minutes and that should be the case once again here tonight. The pricing is extremely soft on Draftkings at just 4.4K and FanDuel has him at 5.6k which is mcuh more appropriate. Achiuwa is a must for me on Dratkings and still a very solid play on Fanduel. We have him projected for about 30-33 fantasy points which is 5x and plenty more across both sites with a ceiling that would make him the best value on the slate. The matchup isn’t the greatest but it doesn’t matter when he should have a minimum of 25 minutes.

Alperen Sengun

There no other words to use besides incredible to describe the way he has been playing lately. Sengun gets an eite matchup tonight against Detroit who have struggled heavily against scoring centers. Lets also add to the mix that there is no KPJ or Jalen Green which will lead to alot of the offense going through Alperen. This should still stay close as Detroit has been mediocre at best this year with a point spread of just 4.5. It is very possible we see a triple double and/or a ceiling game from him to keep his team in this. He is pretty close to a must for me on all sites and fading him could be detrimental to your lineups.
