NBA DFS 12/3/19 – Ben’s Building Blocks

My Core

DeMar DeRozan- LaMarcus Aldridge was finally confirmed out for the Spurs tonight, which gives us the same situation we saw on Sunday evening. DeRozan is not priced according to his role without Aldridge on the floor, this season he sees his usage rise to over 30% with over 1.3 fantasy points per minute without LMA on the floor. He managed a floor-type game of 30 DK points in a massive blowout on Sunday, so I feel confident in him being needed for more than 25 minutes tonight given the spread is just 6.5. At his price, he’s one of my favorite plays in all formats on both sites.

Luka Doncic + Kristaps Porzingis- The Mavericks/Pelicans game features the second-highest O/U on the slate, as well as a nice pace-bump for the Mavs as they come into tonight 18th in pace compared to the Pelicans, who are fifth-overall. Doncic needs no introduction, he’s been arguably the best player in the NBA this season and has taken an even bigger step forward in year two than most imagined. He’s averaging 1.7 fantasy points per minute this season, which could see a increase tonight due to the pace, and is my top overall play on the slate…even over James Harden.

As for Porzingis, he’s the only other player on this Mavs team churning out over one FPPM in 2019, and is second on the team in usage rate at 25%. I’ve talked early this season about stacking them together, and this seems like one of those nights especially with Zinger sub-$7,000 on DK.

Rui Hachimura + Thomas Bryant- Moe Wagner is currently questionable with an ankle injury, and if he ends up getting ruled out I will most likely be stacking another pair of teammates in my main build on Tuesday night. Both Both Hachimura and Bryant logged over 30 minutes in the Wizards last game without Wagner, and the best place to attack the Magic this season has been on the glass, especially with Nikola Vucevic still out. They’re both under-priced on both sites tonight, and will be in consideration for me in all formats given the lack of punt value.

Value Plays

Rudy Gay- This is the least sexy DFS play of all time, but it’s probably going to be needed seeing as Gay owns a 24.5% usage rate with 1.1 fantasy points per minute with LaMarcus Aldridge off the floor this season. He had a terrible game on Sunday , but still managed 20 fantasy points in 23 minutes and should see closer to 30 tonight should the game stay remotely close.

Jakob Poeltl- This isn’t a must play by any means, especially with both Hachimura and Bryant around his price tag, but Poeltl also is a fantasy point oer minute player without Aldridge and should be locked into upper-20’s in minutes as the starter tonight. He’s the same price as Khem Birch who I like as a pivot against the Wizards who still rank last in defensive efficiency to centers this season.

That’s about it for value right now, some other names I will consider are Ben McLemore (if Danuel House is out), DJ Augustin and JaMychal Green if he is active. I will also note that Lonzo Ball is just $5,400 on DraftKings and can be considered a strong value there after playing 30 minutes in the Pelicans last game.
