NBA DFS 2/8/23 | Injuries to Monitor

NBA DFS is widely popular among DFS players, but also one of the most time consuming to research. Players rest and sit-out daily, and this makes accurate minutes projections some of the most valuable information when building lineups. DFS Karma does the work for you in our Projections Portal — with minutes, fantasy points, value and more rates projected out nightly in an easy to read table. You can gain access to the projections by signing up for an NBA premium subscription here. This article will aim to identify some of the important injury situations to monitor throughout the day, and give you an idea of where to go if/when news breaks. Let’s get into Wednesday…

Players Listed As Questionable

Happy Wednesday! LeBron successfully broke the NBA scoring record last night which was cool to watch, and now we have a nice nine game slate on tap. I’ll highlight the big names to watch and I’ll be around to answer any questions throughout the day in Discord. You can join the Discord for free here.

Rudy Gobert

Once again Rudy Gobert is listed as questionable to play for tonight’s game. He was active last night, and typically I would expect him to miss since this is the second night of a back-to-back. That being said, the Timberwolves got destroyed last night by the Nuggets and he ended up logging only 19 minutes of action. I think he will likely play tonight due to that, but if he misses we can lock in Naz Reid as a top overall play and Anthony Edwards will see his ceiling projection increased.

Joel Embiid

Like Gobert, it feels like Embiid has been questionable every slate for the last month but I’m going to assume him more in than out on Wednesday. If he’s sidelined, Montrezl Harrell would be arguably the best value play on the slate while James Harden would be a tough fade in all formats. The remaining starters would all see increased usage as well, and we’d be looking at 2+ 76ers in most of our single entry builds.

Brad Beal + Kyle Kuzma

Both these guys missed on Monday for Washington and we could see some big-time value from this team tonight. Washington was blown out by Cleveland on Monday, but have a much tastier match-up tonight against the Charlotte Hornets. Kristaps Porzingis will do it all for this team if both these guys miss and he put up a 28% usage rate on Monday. We will also see increased roles for Deni Avdija, Monte Morris and Daniel Gafford. This is probably the most important spot to watch — with how good the match-up is if these guys are out we will be loading up on Wizards tonight.

Keldon Johnson + Tre Jones

This is the toughest spot to highlight as of now because we just have no idea who’s going to be playing. We know that Sochan is doubtful, but things would really open up if both of these guys miss tonight’s game. Josh Richardson and Malachi Branham are the big winners, but if Keldon Johnson is out then we get even more value on the wing. I’ll have an updated take in my building blocks article this afternoon.

UPDATE: Upon finishing this article both Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland were listed Questionable for the Cavs. I wouldn’t be shocked to see the miss with the ASB looming so it looks like we could get some great value with the Cavs tonight.
