NBA DFS 3/10/23 – Ben’s Building Blocks

What’s up everyone and welcome to Ben’s Building Blocks! If you’ve never read my content before, welcome. To those that have, welcome back. I truly appreciate everyone that reads and supports during NBA season. This article is designed for me to highlight the top plays of the day. Obviously, things can change rapidly in the NBA with injury news close to lock, so I would be sure to subscribe to our premium package for access to our Final Thoughts cheat sheet, our premium discord channel and my core plays. Our Core Plays product gives you the ability to tail all of our analysts in your contests each night. We do the work for you, and you simply plug and play with our premium Core Plays. With that being said, let’s hop into the plays…

Building Blocks

Anthony Davis

Davis has occupied this section all week when he’s played, and we even got him at pretty modest ownership against the Grizzlies. He currently is outside the top-15 in our ownership projections tonight — and I hope that holds true come lock. He continues to feast without LeBron James averaging over 1.6 fantasy points per minute and a 33% usage rate. He’s inside the top-five in ceiling projection tonight, and comes with the security of what should be a good game script. Los Angeles is in must-win mode, and this should be a tight game in the second-half against the Raptors. Overall, I expect him to continue to take over as long as he’s healthy and I’m more than happy to take the OWN% discount in all formats.

Jamal Murray

Murray will likely be one of the higher-owned players on tonight’s slate, but it’s hard to argue the match-up against the Spurs. San Antonio ranks bottom-three in defensive rating against Murray’s position, and we have him graded as a top-six value in our Projections Portal tonight. He’s actually been very good fantasy-wise over the last month — and is tied for the team lead in usage rate at 26%. This game is even remotely close, expect a big game from Murray and he’s a tough fade in cash game formats.

Value Plays

Value Point Guards

This is the weirdest slate of all-time. With seemingly no injury news to watch, we have limited value and it’s going to push heavy ownership onto suspect value plays. This makes it a very interesting GPP slate, you should be able to find similar projection / lower-owned pivots across the value-tier on both sites. As of now, Reggie Jackson is projecting to be one of the highest-owned plays on the slate due to his sub-$4K price tag on DK. I think he is a great play for that price, but 35%+ ownership on him is laughable in tournament formats.. We also have Ricky Rubio picking up steam, with Darius Garland looking unlikely to play. Should Garland miss, we will be plugging in both Rubio and Caris LeVert in cash game formats.
