NBA DFS 3/15/23 – Ben’s Building Blocks

What’s up everyone and welcome to Ben’s Building Blocks! If you’ve never read my content before, welcome. To those that have, welcome back. I truly appreciate everyone that reads and supports during NBA season. This article is designed for me to highlight the top plays of the day. Obviously, things can change rapidly in the NBA with injury news close to lock, so I would be sure to subscribe to our premium package for access to our Final Thoughts cheat sheet, our premium discord channel and my core plays. Our Core Plays product gives you the ability to tail all of our analysts in your contests each night. We do the work for you, and you simply plug and play with our premium Core Plays. With that being said, let’s hop into the plays…

Building Blocks

Paul George

This game features just a 2.5 point spread, and should be a close game with both teams needing to pad more wins for seeding purposes. I love the spot for PG in particular, he’s priced cheaper than Kawhi Leonard and has been a force for the Clippers this season. PG leads the team in usage-rate this season at 30% and is tied with Leonard sporting a 1.25 fantasy point per minute rate. Golden State has struggled defensively at times without Andrew Wiggins on the wing, and George in particular has been logging heavy minutes loads. Luckily, Los Angeles hasn’t played since the weekend so he should have no issues pushing his limits should the game remain close in the second half. He owns the fifth-highest ceiling projection in our Projections Portal tonight – and I like the idea of pairing him with either Steph Curry or Klay Thompson in small and large-field tournaments.

D’Angelo Russell

There is a slight chance that Russell doesn’t suit up tonight, but the Lakers ruled out Anthony Davis last night after their game and made no mention about Russell’s status, so he should be ready to roll tonight. Los Angeles’ deadline moves are paying off, they’re now firmly entrenched in the play-in tournament but need to continue to win games down the stretch. Russell has been fantastic since joining the team, posting a 26% usage rate and over 1.2 fantasy points per minute. He should be asked to do even more offensively tonight with Davis out — and he is priced in the mid-$7K range as if Davis is going to be active. Houston is a great match-up for a scoring guard like DLo, and I like him in all formats tonight.

Value Plays

Jaden Hardy + Josh green

Dallas will be a main source of value for us on Wednesday night with both Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving still sidelined due to injuries. In addition to that, Christian Wood and Tim Hardaway Jr are questionable to play. Hardy has started in place of Irving the last few games, and should do so once again tonight. He’s a solid 0.9 fantasy point per minute player, and is grading out as a top value tonight due to his massive minutes projection of 37. Josh Green has flashed huge fantasy potential a few times this season, but doesn’t look as strong as Hardy on paper due to his 0.7 fantasy point per minute mark. We also have him projected for massive minutes — 31 — and he’s someone that would get an even bigger bump if Hardaway is ruled out. All-in-all, Dallas is one of the best sources for value in cash game builds tonight.
