NBA DFS 3/6/23 – Ben’s Building Blocks

What’s up everyone and welcome to Ben’s Building Blocks! If you’ve never read my content before, welcome. To those that have, welcome back. I truly appreciate everyone that reads and supports during NBA season. This article is designed for me to highlight the top plays of the day. Obviously, things can change rapidly in the NBA with injury news close to lock, so I would be sure to subscribe to our premium package for access to our Final Thoughts cheat sheet, our premium discord channel and my core plays. Our Core Plays product gives you the ability to tail all of our analysts in your contests each night. We do the work for you, and you simply plug and play with our premium Core Plays. With that being said, let’s hop into the plays…

Building Blocks

Damian Lillard

We have plenty of value tonight, so stuffing in the top projection will be no issue, and tonight that’s Damian Lillard. You can make the case for someone like Jalen Brown without Jayson Tatum, but Lillard has been on another planet – averaging over 35 real points per game over the last calendar month. Overall, we have Lillard as the highest ceiling projection tonight and I will be making him a priority on both sites.

Marvin Bagley

Bagley will be no secret on Monday night, we have him projected as the highest-owned player on the slate but he’s going to be tough to avoid in all formats. Detroit is going to be super thin in the front-court again tonight, and over the weekend the elected to start Bagley with him logging over 30 minutes against the Cavs. Over the last four games, he is among the team leaders with a 27% usage rate and averaging over 35 fantasy points per game. I don’t believe his price is reflective of his current role, which is why he will likely be so high-owned tonight. Overall, you can always fade chalk in tournaments but it’s clear that Bagley is viable in all formats against the Blazers.

Value Plays

Cam Reddish + Grant Williams

We have a lot of strong value tonight, which will once popularize the stars and scrubs build. Reddish isn’t a point per minute beast, but a 0.85 PPM mark is very solid especially when you factor in how many minutes he’s been logging. We have him projected for over 30 minutes again tonight — with Anfernee Simons out he will continue to take on a larger role. Reddish is the type of player, however, I think is worthy of fading at high-OW% so if the number remains around 25-30% I will play him in cash games tonight, but pivot in tournaments. As for Grant Williams, he’s the top value on the slate for me and it’s not close — with multiple players out for the Celtics. We have seen Williams take on bigger roles and excel in DFS this season, and that should be the case tonight with all of Tatum, Horford and Williams sidelined. He’s priced below $4,000 on DK and should be a staple for builds in both cash games and tournaments. I also am interested in betting his over on props, should the lines get posted.
