NBA DFS – Spikes GPP Plays (12/5/21)

Happy Sunday everyone! We have a very small slate ahead of us, which means there will be quite a lot of chalk.  This is a great time to get those low-owned punts into your lineup for tournaments. All these Charlotte players in protocol make it very easy to find your value for tonight. Although, there is plenty of value with the Rockets as well.  Let’s dive into some of my favorite GPP plays for tonight!

Point Guard

Bradley Beal has been very inconsistent in the beginning of the season. That being said, he has a great matchup tonight against The Toronto Raptors. Toronto is in the middle of the pack for defense against guards.  Washington plays fast-paced games and I feel like this is a get-right spot for Beal, who always comes with massive upside on any given game.  His shot hasn’t been falling recently and once it does, I want to have shares of him. Some other players I am looking at are Armoni Brooks, Ish Smith, and Trae Young.

Shooting Guard

While you can also use Beal here, Brandon Ingram really catches my eye. Coming off a massive game against Dallas, he once again gets a great matchup against an injured Houston Rockets team. I don’t think they have anyone that can guard him which should let him take plenty of shots tonight.  His peripherals make him even more appealing and give him the potential to yet again post a triple-double. I also have some interest in Kelly Oubre, Eric Gordon, and Cody Martin.

Small Forward

Gordon Hayward is someone who has seen very mixed results this year.  With all the protocols and injuries the Hornets go into tonight with, he makes for an elite option against the Atlanta Hawks who rank a little below the bottom of the pack in defense against small forwards.  Gordon should see plenty of minutes tonight if this game stays close. I also believe this game only stays close with some massive production from this stud. I am also interested in Miles Bridges, Kyle Kuzma, and Scottie Barnes.

Power Forward

This next play is a little dependent on injury news. I still really like Herbert Jones either way, but with Josh Hart out, he would see even more minutes than he normally would. Houston ranks 25th in the league against power forwards which puts Jones in a great spot.  Most of the attention should be focused more on Brandon Ingram and Jonas Valanciunas leaving Jones to pick up some extra fantasy points.  In 3 of his last 5 games, he has played over 33 minutes.  With that amount of playing time, he could really do some damage on the stat sheet. I am also willing to take a shot on PJ Washington, Danilo Gallinari, and John Collins.

Center

I was back and forth between a couple of guys here. Clint Capela gets an elite matchup against the Charlotte Hornets who are absolutely horrendous at guarding centers.  With Mason Plumlee being out, there is absolutely nobody on that team that worries me guarding Capela.  He could very easily see a double-double and plenty more on top of that. He’s arguably my favorite play on this entire slate at the moment. At an $8200 price tag, he should easily smash value and has the upside to drop 60 fantasy points. This could very well be a slate where I double spend up at this position.  I also really like Jonas Valaciunas, Pascal Siakam, and Precious Achiuwa.
