NBA Jock MKT Play (3/19/22)

Jock MKT is fun new way to play DFS. In this article, I’ll break down what Jock MKT is and my favorite NBA buy for tonight’s slate.

What Is Jock MKT?

The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for the night.

3/19/22 Top Buy

Cade Cunningham, PG, Detroit Pistons

Highest Potential Bid: $13.00

Break-Even Point: 6th

If you’re new to Jock MKT, you may be struggling to read what’s listed below the Cunningham recommendation. Essentially, I’m willing to spend up to $13.00 per share for him. He needs to finish 6th in the field for me to make my money back with the opportunity for me to make more if he finishes higher.

For example, if I buy 1 share of Cunningham at $13.00 and he finishes 6th in this field, I make my $13.00 back. If he finishes 1st, I win $25 (profit $12). If he finishes last, I win $1 (lose $12.00). It’s that simple.

We have a small three game slate on deck Saturday night, which has me focusing on players I view as high-ceiling level plays. Cunningham is exactly that, especially with how he’s been playing recently. He’s missed two games in a row due to an illness, but should be back tonight against the Cavs. I’ve noted in recent articles about him taking over as the alpha in this Pistons offense. His drive numbers are way up, and he’s coming off 40+ fantasy points in three straight including multiple 49+ point games. Cunningham is ranked 7th in Jock MKT’s pre-rank for tonight’s slate. This is in part due to him missing a few games, I believe he is closer to a top-three or four play in raw projection for this slate.

There is some major injury news still to drop, including the Lakers. If LeBron misses I would be focused on grabbing as much Russell Westbrook as I can and there are value pieces there like Wenyen Gabriel. If Cunningham is ruled out, Saddiq Bey sticks out as a must-buy for me.
