Cash Game Strategy

Friday night’s optimal lineups will be heavily centered around the Utah Jazz. Utah was already one of the thinner teams in the league this week and they will now be without Donovan Mitchell. This will force Jordan Clarkson into the starting lineup coming off a game where he logged 40 minutes. With no Mitchell and Bogdanovic, Clarkson will run the offense and have to be the main scorer. He is projected to be one of the highest-owned players on the slate, but this is chalk I’m willing to eat. Trent Forrest is also out for the Jazz, which will increase the minutes floor on Nickeil-Alexander Walker. Aside from the Jazz, Kris Dunn is picking up ownership at minimum-price as well. He’s taken over as one of the primary ball-handlers for the Blazers post-McCollum and I’m comfortable with him in all formats.

Overall, in cash games, I would be focusing on the Clarkson/NAW-type Jazz players + Kris Dunn and filling in with the higher-level players I like the most. Fred VanVleet and Kevin Durant stick out as my favorite plays tonight, along with RJ Barrett. Barrett continues to see increased usage and shot attempts, and is in a great spot vs a terrible half-court defense in the Wizards. Bruce Brown is someone else that’s interesting — he has put up some big games recently with Kyrie Irving off the floor.

GPP Strategy

For tournaments, I would be looking to correlate my studs with players on the opposite side of their games — and Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam standout as top plays for me tonight. I also like Jalen Smith in the mid-tier — who will be much lower-owned than his teammate Goga Bitadze.
