NBA Jock MKT Play (3/21/22)

Jock MKT is fun new way to play DFS. In this article, I’ll break down what Jock MKT is and my favorite NBA buy for tonight’s slate.

What Is Jock MKT?

The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for the night.

3/22/22 Top Buy

Alex Caruso, PG, Chicago Bulls

Highest Potential Bid: $6.00

Break-Even Point: 28th

If you’re new to Jock MKT, you may be struggling to read what’s listed below the Caruso recommendation. Essentially, I’m willing to spend up to $6.00 per share for him. He needs to finish 28th in the field for me to make my money back with the opportunity for me to make more if he finishes higher.

For example, if I buy 1 share of Caruso at $6.00 and he finishes 28th in this field, I make my $6.00 back. If he finishes 1st, I win $25 (profit $19.00). If he finishes last, I win $1 (lose $5.00). It’s that simple.

Caruso has been a revelation for the Bulls this season, contributing on both ends of the floor in the absence on Lonzo Ball. Typically, I search for high-upside options to write up for this article, but I’m comfortable with attacking under-valued cheaper players on small slates. Tonight is just that, with only four games on tap. Caruso has been a willing fantasy producer this season, averaging around 0.85 fantasy points per minute in an average of 27 minutes per game. Where the undervaluation comes in, is that last night, Bulls coach Billy Donovan, announced Caruso would remain in the starting lineup moving forward. That was coming off a game against the Raptors, in which he logged 33 minutes of play. If we can expect his role to be mid-30’s minutes rather than upper-20’s, he is clearly a strong buy-low.

Caruso ranks 30th in Jock MKT’s pre-ranking for tonight, and I love his ceiling if we can get him around $6.00. There is added upside as well, with Zach LaVine questionable for the Bulls.
